The groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration of the Ngoc Hoi victory memorial site was held by Hanoi city on the morning of February 13.

Outstanding in that common victory was the lightning-fast march that destroyed Ngoc Hoi fort, the most important defensive stronghold in the defense system of Ton Si Nghi and the Qing army.

Ngoc Hoi Fortress of the Qing army (now Ngoc Hoi commune, Thanh Tri district) was built around December of the year Mau Than (1788) on the southern field, 14km from Thang Long citadel, with an important position: controlling the Thien Ly road, preventing the attack of the Tay Son army from Tam Diep, protecting the southern gateway of Thang Long citadel.

Immediately after the incense offering, representatives of the Hanoi People's Committee and Thanh Tri District People's Committee conducted the groundbreaking ceremony to restore and embellish the Ngoc Hoi Victory site. With a total investment of more than 48.4 billion VND, the project has a synchronous and comprehensive construction scale, including: Restoration and embellishment of the side gate, memorial; Hexagonal house, guest house.
