Breakthrough in improving training quality and combat skills at sea

As the core force managing and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the central coastal provinces and cities, in recent years, Naval Region 3 has focused on improving its overall quality and combat strength with many synchronous and effective solutions, in which it takes strong political construction as the basis and makes a breakthrough in improving the quality of training and combat skills at sea, contributing to building a clean and strong Party organization and a comprehensively strong Region that is "exemplary and typical".

Take strong political construction as the foundation

In order to meet the requirements of the task, in recent years, the Party Committee and the Regional Command have always attached importance to building a politically strong unit as a basis for improving overall quality and combat strength. With the goal of all officers and soldiers having a deep awareness of their political tasks and responsibilities to the Party, the Fatherland and the people, the Party Committee and the Regional Command have directed agencies and units to strengthen political education, focusing on thoroughly grasping the Party's military guidelines, directives and resolutions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on the struggle to protect sovereignty over seas and islands. Thereby helping officers and soldiers to have a correct understanding of the tasks and importance of combat readiness, search and rescue, regularly raise the spirit of revolutionary vigilance, improve political mettle, be proactive, creative, overcome difficulties, and strive to perform their tasks well.

Party committees and commanders at all levels attach importance to building clean and strong party organizations, building a contingent of cadres and party members to meet the requirements of the tasks. Agencies and units regularly review and correctly assess the current situation of the contingent of party committees, secretaries, the quality of party organizations and the contingent of cadres and party members to have effective leadership solutions; in which, focusing on implementing the "2 qualities, 2 enhancements" breakthrough to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of party committees and organizations and building party cells according to the "4 goods" criteria. Units build strict and scientific working regulations, take care of building a contingent of cadres and party members associated with building leading cadres; promote vanguard, responsibility and exemplary role in performing tasks. Agencies and units strengthen grasping, managing and resolving ideological situations; Proactively and comprehensively carry out Party and political work, focusing on all aspects, contributing to building a politically strong unit, as a basis for improving the overall quality and combat strength of the Region.

Focus on synchronous and in-depth training

Identifying the quality of training as a direct factor contributing to the creation of combat strength, level, and combat readiness, agencies and units in the entire Region focus on leading and directing the improvement of training quality in a synchronous, in-depth direction, training close to the plan, combat objects, and battlefields. Focus on training officers and soldiers to master existing weapons and technical equipment (VKTBKT), improve the ability to quickly access, master new and modern VKTBKT, and be proficient in combat when being reinforced with technical weapons and coordinated combat with other forces. With the view that cadres are the key link that has a decisive meaning in improving the quality of training work, the Region always attaches importance to training, coaching, and fostering cadres with focus, key points, and weak points, and training each content. Thanks to that, the level of management, training operations, command ability, and situation handling of cadres at all levels has been significantly improved.

The region has made a breakthrough in innovating training management and operation, clearly defining the content, time, and level of training for subjects in each department and section. Combining basic training with advanced training, from simple to complex, from easy to difficult, from segment to synthesis. The process of checking and evaluating results is true to reality, and the work of ensuring safety in training is always emphasized. Combining training with formal construction and discipline training; maintaining a routine of training in regulations, physical strength, and sports activities in the unit. The region always completes 100% of the content and time of the training plan in the year, with more than 98.5% of the troops. The professional level, the ability to exploit and master weapons and technical equipment of the troops are increasingly high; the results of drills and live ammunition firing are all good, excellent, or better. Every year, the Region always has 5-7 units at the regimental, brigade, squadron, battalion and equivalent levels awarded the "Excellent Training Unit" Flag by the Ministry of National Defense and the Service.

Accompanying fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea

Stationed in the coastal provinces of the Central region, the weather conditions are harsh, storms and floods often occur with high intensity, long duration, great destruction, the work of preventing and fighting storms and floods, searching and rescuing, helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters is identified by Naval Region 3 as a combat mission in peacetime. With the spirit of "helping people is the command of the heart", in recent years, Naval Region 3 has mobilized thousands of officers and soldiers, with hundreds of vehicles, boats, and vehicles of all kinds to participate in helping people prevent and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, storms, and floods. Officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3 are always ready to be present anytime, anywhere on the sea to support and help fishermen; regardless of danger, hardship, braving storms, overcoming fierce waves, arriving as quickly and early as possible, promptly rescuing, supporting, and helping fishermen in distress at sea. Those practical, effective and noble actions have contributed to shining the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers" in the hearts of the people.

To contribute to building and consolidating the "people's hearts and minds" position, the Region promotes the role of fishermen in participating in protecting sovereignty over seas and islands; actively exchanges and provides information on security at sea; guides fishermen on methods of information and identification of strange targets at sea; encourages people to go offshore, stick to the sea and fishing grounds to develop the economy in conjunction with participating in protecting sovereignty and security at sea and islands. Thanks to that, fishermen have provided the Region with a lot of information about foreign vessels and vehicles violating the sovereignty of Vietnam's seas and islands, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty over the seas and islands of the Fatherland.

Over 50 years of construction and growth, generations of officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3 have always joined hands and unitedly built the tradition: "Proactive, united, coordinated, mastering the sea, determined to fight and win".
