With the theme "Heritage - Connection - Modern Times," the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival, held for the first time under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, was organized in coordination with various departments, agencies, localities, and many provinces and cities nationwide.
According to the organizers, the Festival will be held in various spaces representing the heritage and creativity of the capital city, such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Ngoc Son Temple, Temple of Literature - National University, Hanoi Museum, Hoan Kiem Lake, etc., bringing together more than 30 unique cultural, artistic, and tourism activities.

The event, aimed at honoring the thousand-year-old cultural heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi, will be an annual cultural gathering place organized with a spirit of innovation, creativity, and integration, reflecting the aspiration to build Hanoi into a creative center of Southeast Asia, a place where tradition and modernity intersect, where national essence and the spirit of international integration coexist.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said: "This is not only a large-scale cultural festival, but also an experiential journey, a space connecting the past, present, and future, where every citizen and every visitor can deeply feel the cultural pulse of the capital."
In addition, the Festival also commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Tug-of-War ritual and game being inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, with the international workshop "A Decade of Protecting and Promoting the Tug-of-War Ritual and Game" (November 15); along with exchange activities and tug-of-war demonstrations with the participation of international delegations (Korea and several other countries) and 10 heritage-practicing communities from provinces and cities nationwide such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho… on November 16 at Tran Vu Temple, Long Bien Ward (Hanoi).

The organizers announced that the Festival will take place from November 1st to 16th (16 days), with the opening ceremony held on the evening of November 7th at Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the closing ceremony on the evening of November 16th at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.
