DOWHAT - connecting technology and hotel experiences

DOWHAT is a South Korean technology company that provides a smart hotel platform integrating PMS, booking, CRM, and AI in a unified ecosystem. The solution helps hotels optimize operations, increase direct bookings, and enhance customer experience through data automation and personalization.

The company currently collaborates with many large corporations such as Accor and Lotte, and has expanded into Thailand and Vietnam since 2025. DOWHAT is considered one of Asia's pioneers in the field of Smart Hotel and Travel-Tech.

A comprehensive integrated solution for digital hotels.

The hospitality industry is facing fragmented management systems and disjointed data. DOWHAT's solution integrates all tools—from room management and reservations to customer service—on a single platform.

DOWHAT's platform is compatible with Oracle OPERA Cloud, enabling real-time data synchronization, AI-powered customer behavior analysis, marketing automation, and service personalization. This allows hotels to reduce operating costs, optimize human resources, and increase guest satisfaction.

The differentiating factor - technology connected to people.

Unlike traditional PMS systems, DOWHAT combines AI and innovative marketing through its STA model – allowing hotels to sell rooms directly through influencers. This model both increases direct bookings and helps hotel brands reach the right target audience, resulting in higher marketing effectiveness compared to traditional OTA channels.

Vietnam - a strategic market for DOWHAT

According to Jay Lee, Director of Strategy, Vietnam is a key market in Southeast Asia, thanks to its rapid tourism development and strong policies supporting digital transformation.

“Vietnam is the new hub of Asian tourism. We look forward to collaborating with Vietnamese hotels and technology companies to build a localized smart hotel model,” Mr. Lee shared.

At the Vietnam-Korea Digital Forum 2025, an annual event organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Korea Information Technology Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), bringing together more than 100 leading businesses and research organizations from both countries, DOWHAT expects to expand cooperation with Vietnamese hotel groups, travel companies, and management agencies.

The company plans to implement pilot projects for Smart Hotel and STA (Smart Tourism Assistant), contributing to raising the standards of hotel services in Vietnam using AI technology and smart data, aiming for sustainable digital tourism in the region.

3-5 Year Strategy: Vietnam as a Regional Hub

DOWHAT aims to establish a regional operations center in Vietnam, serving expansion into Thailand, Indonesia, and other ASEAN countries. This strategy focuses on localizing AI solutions, expanding the STA channel, and collaborating on research and development with local universities and businesses.

The company aims to help Vietnam become a hub of the regional smart hotel ecosystem, while also promoting digital tourism connectivity between South Korea and Southeast Asia.

Korean-Vietnamese technological cooperation in the era of overarching AI.

DOWHAT believes that the combination of South Korea's AI capabilities and Vietnam's dynamic digital ecosystem will create a sustainable model of technological cooperation.

"We want to bring smart hotel technology from Korea to Vietnam, helping to elevate the travel experience through AI – where data connects with human emotions," Jay Lee affirmed.
