Poland is currently ranked 3rd in the world, 19 places above Vietnam, and has won 3 consecutive FIVB Nations League bronze medals. The European team has a squad of tall athletes, notably Magdalena Stysiak (2.03 m) and Agnieszka Korneluk (2 m).
Meanwhile, Vietnam is just a rookie, awarded a spot thanks to Thailand being the host. However, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team have made great progress with many historic victories, including defeating Belgium and Thailand.
The Vietnamese team is at a big disadvantage without key setter Bich Tuyen, but the coaching staff has tested many alternative options.
Facing a strong opponent, Vietnam determined to be the underdog but still aimed to enter the match confidently, maximizing fighting spirit to find unexpected opportunities.
