After the 2025 World Cup, striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy went to Japan to play for the Gunma Green Wings Club. At her new team, Thanh Thuy was welcomed by her teammates. "4T" wears the number 16 shirt in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Along with Tran Thi Thanh Thuy in Japan, there is also foreign player Olivia Rożanski (Poland). These two new players are highly expected to help Gunma Green Wings achieve high results this season.
After arriving in Japan, Thanh Thuy has more than 1 month to prepare for the 2025/26 National Championship. According to the schedule, on October 10, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates at Gunma Green Wings will have the opening match of the new season.

Gunma Green Wings W was promoted last year and finished last season due to a lack of quality players. This year, the Japanese team significantly strengthened its squad by recruiting quality foreign players, including Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. With Thanh Thuy going to Japan to compete, VTV Binh Dien Long An accepted not having the 1997-born hitter in the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
This is not the first time Thanh Thuy has gone abroad. In the Japanese tournament, the main striker of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team played for the PFU Blue Cats in the 2023/2024 season, then went to compete in Turkey and Indonesia. In her career, this is the 7th time Tran Thi Thanh Thuy has played abroad.
One issue that worries fans is that Thanh Thuy may not return home to join the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at the 33rd SEA Games in December. The reason is that the SEA Games is not part of the official competition system of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), so clubs are not required to release players to the national teams.
It is known that representatives of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation are trying to negotiate with Gunma Green Wings to have Thanh Thuy's service at the SEA Games.
