Some payment services from Napas are interrupted

Vietnam National Payment Corporation (Napas) has just announced a plan to convert the technical system from the Main Center (DC) to the Backup Center (DRC).

During the transition period, some payment services conducted from commercial bank accounts will be temporarily disrupted.

Accordingly, service disruptions are expected to occur twice, each lasting 60 minutes: from 0:00 to 1:00 AM on October 27th; and from 0:00 to 1:00 AM on October 31st. Banking services that may be disrupted include interbank quick transfers, VietQR, and Thailand QR.

Upon receiving the notification from Napas, banks also sent notifications to their customers. Specifically, the following applications at the Vietnam Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (Agribank) will be affected: eBanking, Agribank Plus for transactions to Citibank, Vietnam Technological and Commercial Bank (Techcombank), Vietnam Maritime Bank (MSB), Bao Viet Bank (BVBank), Asia Commercial Bank (ACB ), Vietnam Export Import Bank (Eximbank), An Binh Bank (ABBank), and Woori Bank Vietnam Limited.

Additionally, money transfers to Agribank from other banks via the Napas system may also be unavailable during this period.

However, bilateral payment systems between Agribank and Vietnam Foreign Trade Commercial Bank (Vietcombank), Vietnam Investment and Development Bank ( BIDV ), Vietnam Industrial and Commercial Bank (VietinBank), Military Commercial Bank (MB), the 24/7 bilateral payment system between Agribank and BIDV, VietinBank, and the interbank electronic payment system are still operating normally.

Vietnam Prosperity Commercial Bank (VPBank) has announced the following affected services: Money transfers and payments via VPBank NEO digital banking (on website, mobile web, and mobile application); 24/7 interbank money transfers (including transfers via VietQR); online payments using the buy now pay later (PayLater) method via the Napas gateway; and audio account balance change notifications.

In addition, the operation of domestic debit cards (Napas) issued by VPBank is also temporarily suspended, including interbank cash withdrawals at ATMs using domestic debit cards; online payment transactions via card such as scheduling automatic payments and paying bills; transactions at POS machines; and services for transferring, receiving, and withdrawing money from the card.
