The appearance of singer Kieu Anh brings a new and exciting breeze to DIFF 2025. Transforming into Princess Son Tinh descending to earth, "beautiful sister" Kieu Anh stirs up the music night with the performance "Phong Nu - Co Doi Thuong Ngan" which was once on the top trending YouTube at the contest "Beautiful Sister Walking the Wind 2024". Dancing in a trance, playing the moon lute, dancing with drums and singing with a voice that gives many people goosebumps, Kieu Anh promises to bring to the opening night of DIFF 2025 an eye-catching performance with the spirit of honoring Vietnamese culture - true to the theme of the opening night.
As a familiar face in many DIFF seasons, Divo Tung Duong with his powerful voice continues to bring varied performances, sometimes deeply and heroically with "Dat nuoc loi ru" by Van Thanh Nho, sometimes melodiously and magically in the jazz melody with the song "Fly me to the moon" by Bart Howard - the first song ever played on the moon when the Apollo 11 spacecraft made history for humanity.
Singer Thu Hang, former Sao Mai champion, continued the heroic atmosphere with the song "Dawn of Da Nang", as a proud confession about the land on the Han River that is growing stronger day by day, ready for a new era.
Nguyen Tran Trung Quan with his skillful voice conveyed Vietnamese pride through the song “Aspiration to be Vietnamese”. Along with that, traditional dances recreated the bustling festival atmosphere of Finland, vibrant dances by Ba Na Hills Dance Group, Mai Trang, Hoang Thong, Sac Viet… created an emotional party.
With a stage increased by 60% compared to DIFF 2024, capable of opening up many unique shapes and a comprehensively upgraded sound system, the rehearsal night brought a perfect performance for the live concert.
As the first team to open the DIFF 2025 season, Vietnam Team 1 chose the theme “Cultural Essence” with more than 5,000 fireworks of all kinds, bringing more than 100 brilliant and diverse effects, taking visitors on an emotional journey, where music blends with the colors of fireworks. Meanwhile, the Finnish team expressed their desire to connect the nation’s cultural roots in the “Northern Lights” performance inspired by the Northern European aurora phenomenon.
The opening night of DIFF 2025 will officially take place on Saturday evening, May 31, with a match between the host team Vietnam and the reigning DIFF 2024 champion Finland. The program will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Radio and Television from 8:10 p.m.
