Anantara Hoi An Resort
Author Sabrina Russello's stop was the Anantara Hoi An Resort. Situated on the scenic banks of the Thu Bon River, the Anantara Hoi An Resort is a resort in Hoi An that offers guests a wonderful relaxing experience by the river.
According to the author, the architecture of Anantara Hoi An reflects Asian and French influences, with a twist of outdoor scenery. The resort has four room options, from luxurious balcony rooms to superior river view rooms. If possible, opt for a more luxurious room or choose the superior river view suite, which has an open-plan design with a large living space, bedroom and bathroom. The interior of the room maintains the French style design, with double sliding doors, high ceilings and mosaic-tiled bathrooms.
“While vibrant pink flowers line the resort’s rooftop terraces, palm trees and other greenery continue to fill the spaces between the pale pink and coral buildings, creating a manicured jungle feel,” the author describes.
Approximately 94 rooms and suites are arranged on staggered floors, a modern accent in Indochinese style.
"The highlight of the resort is the typical lotus pots, lantern lighting system, archways and cream-colored columns covering most of the walkways of the house," the author expressed his special interest in the resort space.
Cuisine
The author believes that the food at Anantara Hoi An resort is also very rich, including many international and Vietnamese dishes. In particular, dishes such as Vietnamese pho and fried cakes have regional characteristics.
Another dining spot the author visited was Hoi An Riverside restaurant.
"In the evening, I could enjoy the outdoors while enjoying traditional dishes at Hoi An Riverside Restaurant. Guests can sit on woven chairs set outdoors and watch the sparkling water. The restaurant menu includes à la carte or family-style set meals, both of which combine modern and sophisticated Vietnamese dishes. I highly recommend the green mango salad with dried beef, roasted duck with mango sauce, and stir-fried morning glory with garlic. For dessert, patrons can't miss the tropical Eton donuts or pineapple crème brûlée," the author writes.
If you are interested in perfect wine pairings, there are around 100 wines to choose from. In 2020, Hoi An Riverside Restaurant won the Award of Excellence from the UK Wine Spectator Awards, the only restaurant in the city to achieve this accolade.
In addition, the author also expressed special impression when discovering the convergence of art and creative dining at Art Space Hoi An. This is one of the newest art galleries combined with dining spots in Hoi An. Here, visitors can enjoy modern East-West cuisine, notably locally caught seafood and 3D printed desserts.
"The restaurant features curated artworks from international artists of Vietnamese origin, bringing joy and warmth to the space. Menu highlights include pizzas hot from the wood-fired oven. Sip coffee, wine and freshly mixed cocktails while admiring local – and renowned – artworks and seasonal exhibitions," the author commented.
In addition, according to the author, the tourist city of Hoi An also offers unique cultural discoveries of the region. Here, classes on Vietnamese culture including topics such as lantern making, painting and cooking all meet the needs of tourists.
"Taking part in a local food tour was one of the most memorable experiences I had in Vietnam," writer Sabrina Russello emphasized.
