Dragon Bridge can fire; another bridge can rotate to let large ships pass through,... bridges with unique architecture, creating the beauty of the river for Da Nang city.
Dragon Bridge creates a highlight for Da Nang tourism , attracting many tourists to see the fire-breathing dragon.
Dragon Bridge started construction on July 19, 2009. After nearly 4 years of construction, Dragon Bridge was inaugurated and put into use on March 29, 2013. Dragon Bridge is 666.5 meters long, weighs nearly 9,000 tons, has 6 lanes, 5 spans, two lanes for pedestrians with a total investment of 1,739 billion VND. Dragon Bridge crosses the Han River in a very prime location, connecting Da Nang airport with a beautiful beach.
Dragon Bridge has a unique architecture simulating the shape of a strong Ly Dynasty dragon reaching out to the sea, becoming an important highlight, an architectural symbol of the city. The distinctive feature of the bridge is the steel beam structural system model in the form of a dragon flying over the Han River, facing the sea. This is considered a unique design in the world in terms of load-bearing structure, a combination of steel beams, steel arches and concrete beams.
Another highlight of the Dragon Bridge is that visitors can admire the dragon breathing fire and water every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night at 9pm. A very beautiful sight that visitors should not miss.

Proud to be “the descendants of the Dragon and the Fairy”, a simulation of the Dragon shape will bring confidence to local residents. In addition, the Dragon and the Phoenix are two sacred animals in the minds of Asian people. If you look at the new Tran Thi Ly bridge, visitors will see the shape of the Phoenix with two soaring wings and its body facing upwards. Adding a Dragon mascot will add to the landscape and pride of this land.
The Han River Swing Bridge is known to locals and tourists as a bridge with a unique design because it can rotate 90 degrees. However, not everyone has the opportunity to directly watch the Han River Bridge rotate because this activity takes place quite late at night.
The first and only swing bridge in Vietnam.
Initially, the bridge was designed with a rotating system to serve waterway traffic, making it convenient for large ships to pass through. Over time, the bridge has become a popular night spot as a symbol of Da Nang City.
Han River Swing Bridge is the first swing bridge in the country, inaugurated in 2000. The bridge is 487.7m long and 12.9m wide, with 11 spans connecting two central roads.
In addition to its transportation purposes, the Han River Bridge also has great aesthetic value, which many people say is as beautiful as a painting in the heart of the city. This special swing bridge was designed and constructed by a team of Vietnamese experts and engineers during the period 1998 - 2000. What is more noteworthy is that the construction cost of the Han River Bridge was supported and contributed by the city's people, accounting for 30% of the total construction cost of 117 billion VND.

To acknowledge the contributions of the city's people, the names of those who contributed to the bridge's construction were engraved on a bronze plaque, solemnly mounted on the bridge's wall on Bach Dang Street.
Tran Thi Ly Bridge is uniquely designed with the shape and positioning of the 145 meter high main tower tilted 12 degrees to the West, consisting of 3 flat pendants.
Tran Thi Ly Bridge was originally a railway bridge. During the French colonial period, the bridge was called De Lattre de Tassigny, then renamed Trinh Minh The Bridge, located about 20m upstream from Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. After 1975, the bridge was named Tran Thi Ly Bridge, and was upgraded to a road bridge, together with Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, serving as a communication bridge, connecting the two banks of the Han River.
The bridge is very beautiful, especially at night, thousands of colors brighten up the whole river.
The special feature in the structural diagram of Tran Thi Ly bridge is the single tower, inclined at 120 but not designed with a rigid clamp like conventional cable-stayed bridges, but is rigidly connected to the bridge deck beam and rests on the S5 pier through a cap-shaped bridge bearing with a load capacity of up to 25 thousand tons, the largest load in the world today, to reduce the size of the foundation and save materials.
Many new and modern technologies were applied in the construction of Tran Thi Ly bridge such as: construction of box girders using push-pull scaffolding technology, sliding formwork; construction and installation of basin bearings with the largest load capacity in the world.
