Every day, I clean the room; plant flowers, ornamental plants, decorate traditional Dao ethnic costumes around the house for visitors to learn and explore the beauty of Dao ethnic culture. At different times of the year, I take visitors to check in peach blossom, plum blossom, orchid garden, climb mountains to see azaleas, go to Tac Tinh waterfall or pick peaches, plums... Visitors are very excited when experiencing, feeling immersed in nature. Along with that, the homestay serves the needs of eating and drinking with typical dishes of the Northwest, selling local agricultural products (honey, buffalo jerky). From there, tourists in and more foreigners come to the village, the number of guests staying has increased a lot compared to previous years, creating income for the family".
Mr. Phan A Pao - Owner of Pao Coi Homestay (Si Thau Chai village, Ho Thau commune, Tam Duong district) introduces local agricultural products.
Coming to Tam Duong in the spring, visitors can admire the pure white pear flowers, and in the summer, visitors can experience picking pears directly in the gardens, seeing the clusters of pears heavy, full, and juicy, which is truly satisfying. To develop tourism combined with selling agricultural products, many pear gardens in Giang Ma commune have opened their doors to welcome tourists at a price of 30,000 VND/visitor to check in.
Ms. Nguyen Ha Phuong (from Hanoi) shared: I have been to Tam Duong several times during festivals, and visited some tourist areas in the district such as Rong May Glass Bridge, O Quy Ho... I was very surprised because in a remote Northwestern province like Lai Chau, there are modern constructions, beautiful scenery, cool and fresh climate, friendly and hospitable people. In particular, this time coming to Lai Chau, I had a new experience which was picking pears grown by local people. Up to now, I only bought at markets and supermarkets, but this time I experienced, picked and enjoyed them in the garden, I found it very interesting. I bought pears in the garden as gifts for family and friends. I find the way of doing tourism combined with selling agricultural products very good, both promoting economic development and having attractive tourism products for visitors to experience".
In the fall, when the terraced fields in Ta Leng commune are covered with the bright yellow color of ripe rice, the scenery here becomes poetic and charming like a beautiful picture in the middle of the vast mountains and forests. Or in the winter, tourists can also watch the snow fall, frost at the top of O Quy Ho pass and sightsee, hunt clouds, visit O Quy Ho tourist area (Son Binh commune) with many beautiful virtual living corners. In recent years, Tam Duong has left many impressions in the hearts of tourists, like a "precious gem" at the end of the Northwest sky, where the majestic natural beauty converges with the unique cultural identity of 12 ethnic groups and rich agricultural products.
Talking to us, Mr. Vu Xuan Thinh - Vice Chairman of Tam Duong District People's Committee said: "With the goal of bringing unique and attractive experiences to tourists, while creating sustainable livelihoods for people, the district has focused on developing potential crops suitable for local climate and soil conditions (peach, pear, plum, rice, passion fruit, etc.), beekeeping, developing OCOP products associated with community tourism development.
