(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Currently, tourist destinations within Quang Ngai province are chosen by many families and groups of young people for weekend getaways, as these places offer many interesting experiences.

As someone who enjoys traveling , every year during holidays, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thao's family, residing in Nghia Chanh ward (Quang Ngai City), usually goes on trips to provinces and cities such as Lam Dong, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, or to countries like Thailand and South Korea... However, in recent years, Ms. Thao's family has often chosen local tourist destinations for weekend getaways. "Before, each trip required a lot of preparation, from finances to scheduling time so the whole family could go together. But now, with just two days off on the weekend, the whole family can have fun and relax after a tiring week of work," Ms. Thao shared.

Ms. Thao added that visiting tourist attractions within the province is very convenient because they are close to home, and the family can travel by private vehicle. However, there are still plenty of interesting experiences, such as the feeling of taking a boat to Ly Son Island; stargazing on the Bui Hui grassland; or simply going to a homestay near the beach to have fun and enjoy themselves together.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Tan, from Nghia Dong commune (Quang Ngai City), shared that his family members are very excited about going on vacation and traveling within the province. “I often research historical sites and homestays in the province and then take my family on trips to explore them on my days off. Quang Ngai has many beautiful places that can be visited and returned from in a single day,” Mr. Tan said.

Staycation offers many advantages, especially the ability to be flexible with time, simple transportation, and lower costs. It's also a suitable form of tourism for young families, those with small children, or elderly people who lack the resources, time, or health for longer trips.

Currently, the province has many tourist destinations that attract not only visitors from outside the province but also many local tourists who come to visit and relax on weekends. For example, just over 20 minutes by car from the center of Quang Ngai City, tourists can experience rowing boats through the canals in the mangrove forest of Tinh Khe commune; enjoy fresh mangrove coconuts and participate in handicrafts with the locals.

Ms. Bui Thi Mai, from Mo Duc district, expressed: "When I came to Tinh Khe mangrove forest, I found it to be a beautiful, relatively unspoiled natural landscape, an attractive tourist destination with unique products that cannot be found elsewhere. The mangrove forest has a poetic beauty; sitting on small boats, gently gliding downstream under the cool green mangrove canopy feels like being in the Southern region of Vietnam. I never imagined that my hometown would have such an interesting tourist spot."

Bui Hui grassland, located in Ba Trang commune (Ba To district), is also an attractive and novel destination that many tourists in the province seek out to experience. At Bui Hui, visitors can not only enjoy the fresh, green environment but also comfortably camp, chase the sea of ​​clouds, and experience tourism services with a strong local identity. “Each season, Bui Hui grassland has its own unique beauty. In summer, Bui Hui is filled with the purple color of sim flowers; in autumn and winter, the hills turn yellow with grass; and in spring, it's lush green. Therefore, each visit is a different experience, never boring,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Tan.

Sometimes, instead of traveling far, many families choose to travel and relax near where they live. Responding to this demand, many homestays have opened in areas like My Khe Beach (Quang Ngai City), Chau Tan Beach (Binh Son District), and Nghia Ha flower village (Quang Ngai City), attracting mainly locals from nearby areas who come to rest, relax, or simply enjoy cooking and socializing together on weekends.

Quang Ngai currently has many tourist destinations, albeit small in scale, that are quite unique. To maintain and sustainably develop these existing tourist destinations, it is not enough to rely solely on the demand from tourists within the province. The tourism industry and local authorities need specific plans and strategies to contribute to economic development and create jobs for local workers.
