This initiative, called the "Swedish Prescription," is based on new research confirming the resilience of patients through nature, culture, and social interaction, according to The European . The World Health Organization (WHO) has always emphasized the role of the natural environment in human health. Several countries have also experimented with "green prescriptions"—encouraging patients to spend time outdoors as a way to reduce stress, combat depression, and improve physical recovery.
Visit Sweden has compiled a list of activities across Sweden that are both culturally rich and scientifically proven to have health benefits.
