According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , at the invitation of President Luong Cuong, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime from June 24-25.

Vietnam will host the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime and the UN High-Level Conference in Hanoi (Hanoi Convention) on October 25 and 26.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang emphasized that the selection of Hanoi as the venue for the signing ceremony and the summit by the United Nations was a very special event.
Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang affirmed that hosting the Hanoi Convention signing ceremony not only promotes cooperation in combating cybercrime but also helps Vietnam strengthen the exchange of experiences to improve institutions, legal frameworks, and enhance the professional and technical capacity of law enforcement forces.
As of October 14th, 93 delegations led by high-ranking officials and ministerial leaders from various countries have confirmed their attendance at the event, along with over 1,000 delegates and members of the press.
It is expected that President Luong Cuong and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will deliver important speeches at the opening session.
Earlier, on September 22 (local time), President Luong Cuong met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his great anticipation for his official visit to Vietnam at the end of October. He also stated that Vietnam is an excellent partner, actively participating and contributing to all of the United Nations ' priority areas, especially peacekeeping, sustainable development, climate change response, and just energy transition.
The UN Secretary-General assessed Vietnam as an active member of the UN and a pillar of today's multipolar world, and therefore argued that emerging economies, including Vietnam, need a stronger voice, representation, and a more deserving role in the global governance system.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam trusts and supports multilateralism and the central role of the United Nations in global governance.
