- Could you please tell us about the significance of this competition, especially for Vietnamese youth and members of the Youth Union?
- January 6, 1946, was an extremely important milestone when, for the first time in the history of the Vietnamese nation, a general election was held nationwide to elect the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first workers' and peasants' state in Southeast Asia. This was a direct result of the August Revolution of 1945, representing a great step forward in democratic institutions and affirming the people's right to self-governance.

Over the past 80 years, the National Assembly has enacted hundreds of laws, decided on numerous strategic policies and guidelines, exercised supreme oversight over the activities of the State, and made significant contributions to the cause of national construction and defense. Each stage of the National Assembly's development has been closely linked to important advancements in the country, affirming the maturity of Vietnam's socialist rule of law state, of the people, by the people, and for the people.
The online interactive quiz "Learning about 80 years since the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly" is a deeply meaningful socio-political activity, contributing to spreading national pride, patriotism, legal awareness, and civic responsibility among today's young generation of Vietnam.
- To attract the participation of union members and young people, how was the competition organized and implemented, sir?
- The competition consists of two stages. The first stage is a multiple-choice test on the Vietnam Youth application and the website thitructuyen.doanthanhnien.vn . The online platforms are built with a modern, impressive, and user-friendly interface, optimized for both computers and mobile devices, suitable for the tastes of young people and accurately reflecting the essence and spirit of the competition.
The second round of the competition was broadcast live on the Facebook social network at the following addresses: Central Youth Union Electronic Information Portal ; Central Youth Union Propaganda Department . Accordingly, players interacted with the host and answered questions directly during the live broadcast in the form of comments selecting the correct option. This is a modern, creative, and youth-friendly competition format, suitable for the digital media trend in the new era.
Vivid lessons about the history of Parliament
- As someone who has followed and supported the competition, what kind of response and participation have you observed from the youth union members?
- Stage 1 of the competition was held from June 2nd, 2025 to November 11th, 2025. After 23 weeks of competition, 790,424 contestants participated with 1,874,262 entries on the Vietnam Youth application; 1,317,402 contestants participated with 5,509,541 entries on the website thitructuyen.doanthanhnien.vn . In total, across both platforms, 2,107,826 contestants participated with 7,377,803 entries. The achievement rate of the set targets was 211% for the number of contestants and 246% for the number of entries. Several participating units responded positively and achieved good results in Stage 1, including: Hung Yen, Ha Tinh, the National Assembly Youth Union, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Youth Union, central organizations, Lao Cai, etc. In Stage 2, the competition also attracted 1,813,130 views, interactions, and comments on Facebook.

It is evident that each question and each part of the competition is a vivid lesson about the constitutional and legislative history of the nation; a reminder of citizens' rights and responsibilities, of the close relationship between the National Assembly and the people, and between glorious traditions and the aspiration for innovation, integration, and prosperous national development. The competition has strongly spread the spirit of "Understanding the National Assembly - Loving the Fatherland - Living Responsibly" to a large number of youth union members and young people both domestically and internationally.
- What are your expectations for Vietnamese youth and union members after this competition?
- The competition not only helps young people enhance their understanding of the National Assembly, the Constitution, and the law, but also awakens pride, patriotism, and a will to contribute to the nation. Each week of the competition is an opportunity to learn and review history, to understand the value of democracy and the people's right to self-governance. From there, every Vietnamese person, especially the younger generation, will further appreciate the achievements of the Revolution and the National Assembly over 80 years of building and development, and continue to contribute to the cause of renovation and building a prosperous and happy country.
The Vietnamese National Assembly is entering a new phase of development, with increasingly high demands for building and perfecting a socialist rule of law state, promoting democracy, ensuring human rights and civil rights, fostering innovation, and deepening international integration. On this path, Vietnamese youth are a pioneering, creative, and enthusiastic force with an extremely important role.
