The third outbreak of Covid-19 since the end of January 2021 has caused the tourism industry in the country in general and Binh Thuan in particular to suffer heavy losses during the Lunar New Year. While room cancellations are quite common due to fear of the disease at famous resorts that attract large crowds, there are also many cases of people still "packing their bags and going" during the longest holiday of the year.
This group of customers is mostly groups of friends, families, relatives... who decide to travel to the countryside to have new experiences, closer to nature and people. Right after Tet, there were articles shared on social networks about the trip and received many positive comments because of the peaceful scenery, rustic lifestyle, rustic dishes, regional products... At the same time, it is considered a reasonable journey when choosing safe destinations, responding to the campaign "Vietnamese people travel to Vietnam" to contribute to helping the tourism industry gradually recover and overcome difficult times.
In the coming time, it is forecasted that the trend of traveling to the countryside will continue to be chosen by many people for their vacations in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic that is unknown when it will end completely. In addition, this type of tourism is also expected to attract many tourists because the cost is not high but can meet the needs of learning about history, culture and discovering new features at the destination. In particular, children traveling with them will be able to "hear, see, and touch" tools and means of agricultural production or crops and livestock that they previously only knew through textbooks, on TV, etc.
In Binh Thuan, rural tourism and community tourism also have the potential to develop in both the plains, mountains and coastal areas, so it is necessary to find solutions to exploit them effectively. In addition to some current tourist attractions such as Bau Trang Eco-tourism Site (Bac Binh), Binh Thanh - Co Thach Pagoda Tourist Area (Tuy Phong), Cam Binh Community Tourism Site and Dinh Thay Thim (La Gi), the province still has tourist attractions that attract visitors. These are: Thac Ba Eco-tourism Site (Duc Thuan Commune, Tanh Linh District), Thac 3 Tang Eco-tourism Site (Da Kai Commune, Duc Linh District), spiritual tourism at Truc Lam Zen Monastery (Song Phan Commune, Ham Tan District)... Along with that, homestay services are developing in areas with tourism strengths such as Phan Thiet City, La Gi Town, Phu Quy Island and dragon fruit garden tours in Ham Thuan Nam District.
To contribute to this type, the locality has also taken into account the planning orientation for the development of high-tech agricultural tourism areas in some key areas. The remaining issue is to soon develop and implement support mechanisms and policies to facilitate investment attraction in developing rural tourism and community tourism models. Therein, there needs to be synchronous planning, strict management, ensuring a safe, secure, friendly tourism environment... to contribute to diversifying tourism products, creating attractiveness for Binh Thuan destination.
| From the regional characteristics, rural tourism products and community tourism in Binh Thuan can also be shaped with Bac Binh district being one-sun-dried beef, melon, and monitor lizard meat. As for Tuy Phong district, it is associated with grape products, La Gan bird chili, tragacanth gum, herbs from the ginseng tree... or tourist destinations in La Gi town are associated with fresh seafood products of all kinds. Meanwhile, tourist destinations in Tanh Linh district are associated with cashew nuts, snakehead fish, various types of wooden handicrafts and in Duc Linh are Dong Ha green-skinned grapefruit, Romo durian, coffee, and pepper.
