In early June, as schools finish the academic year, families want to take their children on vacation to recharge after a year of intense studying. From another perspective, teachers also want a break to forget the fatigue of a long day in the classroom. While many families choose to go to Binh Thuan with its "blue sea, white sand, and golden sunshine" and enjoy seafood, many others opt for the countryside to visit relatives and combine it with tourism, exploring orchards and, most importantly, enjoying ripe durians, mangosteens just beginning to ripen on the trees, or clusters of sweet, fragrant longan swaying in the breeze.

Since the beginning of June, Da Mi has been bustling with tourists coming to enjoy the summer and visit the fruit orchards. Minh Phu's macadamia island, located adjacent to the Ham Thuan hydroelectric reservoir, sees hundreds of visitors every day. Mai Van Minh, Director of Da Mi Tourism Company, is quite surprised by the daily influx of visitors to the island. He said: “Most of the visitors are teachers, students, and family tours. There are tours every day, and we expect the number of visitors to increase in the future.”... Mr. Phan Huu Hung – Principal of Phuoc Loc Secondary School, along with other principals in La Gi town, recently made a “preliminary visit” to Da Mi to survey the area before taking a group of teachers from their school to visit. He said: “I heard about the beautiful scenery of the lake from my colleagues, but when I arrived, it exceeded my expectations. The orchards are amazing; fresh macadamia nuts hanging from the branches can be picked and eaten on the spot, which was very unusual for many in the group. In Binh Thuan, having a tourist spot like this is not only for relaxation, but also allows students to learn many interesting things and gain knowledge…” Ms. Hoang Ngoc Kieu's group from Ho Chi Minh City, with over 50 people, went to Phan Thiet for a beach trip and then came to Da Mi to experience the fruit orchards. Ms. Kieu shared: “In Binh Thuan, we had already visited dragon fruit orchards and tried processed dragon fruit products, which was great, but here, being able to pick ripe durians that had fallen from the trees and sit right under them to crack them open and eat them was quite an interesting experience. Tourism in Binh Thuan is becoming increasingly diverse, so our group will definitely come back next time…”
When mentioning fruits from Binh Thuan, many people think of the dragon fruit growing areas of Ham Thuan Nam and Ham Thuan Bac districts. In addition, there's the Son My longan growing area in Ham Tan district, and the fruit-growing areas in Ro Mo and Da Kai communes, Duc Linh district, where farmers cultivate hundreds of hectares of sweet tangerines, oranges, and pomelos. Duc Linh is also famous for its watermelons; farmers take advantage of the alluvial plains along the La Nga River to grow watermelons with a refreshing sweetness, highly sought after in the market. Recently, Duc Linh farmers have also started growing bananas for export. Due to its proximity to the southeastern provinces, most of the fruit from Duc Linh is bought wholesale directly from the orchards by traders from Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City, with only a small amount going to Phan Thiet. Many people in Da Mi, Ham Thuan Bac, want to try mangosteen, durian, and bananas because of their superior quality and flavor. Furthermore, the Ta Pua area in Duc Linh and Tanh Linh districts also produces delicious durians because the soil and climate of these two areas are suitable for fruit-bearing trees...
Besides durian and mangosteen, which are currently "hot" among fruit lovers, dozens of other fruits such as jackfruit, mango, green strawberries, and star apple, ripe and fragrant, are also attracting many people to choose homestay tourism packages in the orchards of districts in Binh Thuan province for their children to relax, live, and enjoy.
