Bringing Vietnam-Mongolia relations to new heights, increasingly deeper, more substantial and more effective

On the afternoon of September 12, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mongolian Minister of Justice and Interior Khishgee Nyambaatar, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

At the reception, the Prime Minister expressed his delight at the fact that in nearly 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations (1954-2023), the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia has been continuously consolidated and developed in the context of continued fluctuations in the international and regional situation.

Exchanges of delegations and contacts at high and all levels between the two countries are maintained regularly; mutual understanding and trust are consolidated and cooperation in all fields is enhanced; cooperation in the field of security and defense is always an important pillar in the overall bilateral relations and cooperation. In particular, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has made new progress. Two-way trade turnover reached 85 million USD in 2022 and there is still much room for promotion.

Appreciating that Mongolia always attaches importance to its relations with Vietnam, considering Vietnam a leading important partner in the Southeast Asian region, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to and wishes to continue promoting the development of bilateral relations in many fields in accordance with the capabilities and needs of both sides, meeting the interests and aspirations of the people of each country.

In the context of the rapidly evolving, complex and unpredictable world and regional situation, the Prime Minister said that the two countries need to work together to improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.

In particular, continue to coordinate and promote delegation exchanges and contacts at high levels, at all levels and localities of the two countries; promote substantive and effective development of security and defense cooperation; promote roles and responsibilities on issues of common interest related to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world; continue to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, promptly renegotiate the Air Transport Agreement and promote the expansion of Vietnam-China-Mongolia railway transport; promote people-to-people exchange and promote tourism between the two countries.

Sincerely thanking Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for taking the time to receive the delegation, Minister of Justice and Interior of Mongolia Khishgee Nyambaatar conveyed the Mongolian Prime Minister's regards to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Reporting to the Prime Minister on the results of his talks with the Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, the Minister of Justice and Interior of Mongolia said that the two sides had signed a number of cooperation agreements on crime prevention, especially transnational crime.

Minister Khishgee Nyambaata hopes that during the upcoming visit to Vietnam by the Mongolian President, the two countries will elevate their relations to a new height; in particular, enriching the Vietnam-Mongolia relationship in the economic and cultural fields, commensurate with the political relationship. The Mongolian government has policies and creates favorable conditions for businesses, including Vietnamese businesses, to invest effectively in Mongolia.

Agreeing with the opinion of Minister Khishgee Nyambaatar, the Prime Minister said that he assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to clarify the wishes of both sides in raising the relationship between the two countries to a new level, increasingly in-depth, substantive and effective.

Regarding the fields of internal affairs and justice, the Prime Minister suggested that the Mongolian Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior coordinate well with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, regularly exchange experiences such as in cavalry training, specialized training, crime prevention, ensuring information network security, enhancing intelligence exchange, etc.; complement each other in issues where one side has experience and capabilities and the other side needs to learn.

Through Minister Khishgee Nyambaatar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his warm regards to the Mongolian Prime Minister; asked the Minister to report to the Mongolian President that Vietnam is actively preparing for the President's visit to Vietnam in the coming time.
