In Hue City - a land of diverse beliefs and unique cultural identities, there are more and more religious families upholding revolutionary traditions. They are the precious "red seeds", silently spreading revolutionary ideals in the midst of sacred beliefs, affirming an immutable truth: Religion accompanies the nation.

When revolutionary ideals sprout from faith
As a major religious center of the country, Hue is not only famous for its ancient pagodas and moss-covered churches, but also for its unique and rich religious life. In this land, it is not uncommon to find families following Catholicism and Buddhism - many generations of whom have been party members and revolutionary cadres, accompanying the nation in each stage of development. They not only keep their faith in the sacred faith, but also put their faith in the communist ideal, in the path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho.
The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Thien - a Catholic living in Thuan Hoa ward is a living proof of the harmonious blend between religion and life. Three generations in his family are party members. His parents were secret cadres in the resistance war against the US. His wife and children were also admitted to the Party. As a long-time parishioner of Phu Cam church, Mr. Thien has always shown himself to be an exemplary party member, living a good life, upholding his religion, trusted by the people and recognized by the organization.
Mr. Thien shared: “Whether you are a Catholic or a non-Catholic, a Party member or a Catholic, as a Vietnamese citizen, you must live a good life and contribute to society. For me, religious faith and revolutionary ideals are not contradictory, but complement each other, helping me live a more decent and responsible life.”
That confession is not only his own philosophy of life, but also the common perception of many religious families who are accompanying the revolution. They understand that living a virtuous life is not only about observing rituals, but also about serving people and the community. And it is in that process of service that the seeds of patriotism, of the ideal of serving the people and the country, have sprouted and borne fruit.
In My Thuong ward, party member Ho Minh Loc - a Catholic in Truyen Nam village is also a typical example. Born and raised in a Catholic family, Loc soon became aware of his role as a citizen in the locality. He used to be a security team leader, a police officer, and then a village chief, and in every position he held, he was dedicated and responsible. From donating land to open roads, mobilizing residents to keep the environment clean, to building a cultural life, he was always a pioneer.
“Being in the Party ranks is a great honor. I feel the trust of the people and the organization, and I have to live a life worthy of it,” Loc shared.
Not only Mr. Thien or Mr. Loc, according to statistics of Hue City Party Committee, currently the whole city has more than 600 party members who are Buddhists, hundreds of party members who are Catholics and other religions. They are the core force in mass movements, the bridge between the Party and religious people, the people who spread the spirit of living "good life - beautiful religion" persistently and convincingly.
The Party belongs to the people and the people have morality.
Someone once asked: “Why do people with faith need to join the Party?” The answer seems simple, but it is a long-term, meaningful process: Because they see the Party not only as a political organization but also as a sincere companion, a pioneering force serving the People, caring for community life, and respecting personal beliefs.
From religious faith to political faith is a journey of quiet, persistent but powerful inner transformation. It is the result of a process of deeply feeling the positive changes brought about by the Party's correct policies and guidelines.
Mr. Dang Anh Hung, Secretary of the Party Cell of Truyen Nam village (My Thuong ward) confided: "Thanks to the Party's correct policies, we have a stable life, our children can study, and society develops."
In Hue City, religious work has always been of interest to Party committees at all levels, not only in terms of policy, but also in leading the implementation of specific activities: Organizing dialogues and meetings with religious dignitaries; fostering political awareness for religious people; discovering and creating conditions for outstanding individuals to participate in Party activities, run for people's representatives...
Thanks to that companionship, there are more and more strong Party cells in areas with many religious people, with the core being Party members who are religious, prestigious and closely connected to the people. The persuasion in mass mobilization work does not come from empty theories, but from the vivid images of exemplary Party members in daily life. They are people who "talk less, do more", live sincerely, get along with the people, and set an example in every little thing.
In areas with a large number of believers, party members who are religious have become the most effective “bridge” between the Party organization and the community of Catholics and Buddhists. With their personal prestige, they not only help to convey policies and guidelines in a gentle way, but also contribute to erasing the invisible boundary between religion and life.
Religious families, many generations of Party members, are proving day by day the correctness and humanity of the Party's religious policy. In the rustic houses in the villages of Hue, amid the sounds of prayers and Party cell meetings, amid the pagoda roofs and the Party flag, a peaceful harmony is present: Revolutionary ideals do not exclude faith - and true faith always aims at the noble values that the Party pursues.
They, the religious party members, are the embodiment of the spirit of “Religion goes hand in hand with the nation”. They do not separate themselves but integrate into the community. They spread the Party’s ideals with devotion, humility and responsibility. They are the “red seeds” in the heart of faith, a solid bridge between the Party and the people, between religion and life.
“When a religious family has many generations of Party members, they are the most vivid image of the close relationship between the Party and the people, between religion and life. From there, we can mobilize and build lasting trust in the community,” said Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Hue City Party Committee. |
