On the afternoon of October 7, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Nong Nhu Hue, Deputy Director of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area Management Board (Cao Bang) said that starting from the afternoon of October 6, the water level began to rise.

Then, the rain that night caused the water level in the Ban Gioc waterfall area to rise about 2m higher than normal. The circulation of storm No. 11 is currently causing heavy rain in Cao Bang province, causing the water level in the Ban Gioc waterfall area to rise, the flow is strong and poses many potential safety risks for tourists.

To ensure absolute safety for tourists and locals, the Ban Gioc Waterfall Management Board on October 7 decided to temporarily stop welcoming visitors to the tourist area until the weather stabilizes and the water level recedes to a safe level.

In addition, visitors are advised not to approach the edge of the waterfall, river banks, landslides or flooded areas. In addition, the Management Board also recommends that visitors regularly monitor official announcements from the authorities and the official website of the tourist area to update the situation and reopening time.

The fact that Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area had to temporarily close to receive visitors twice in a row, with the previous closures only a few days apart, is considered unprecedented.

"This has never happened at Ban Gioc waterfall. However, because the safety of tourists must be put first and the weather and flood conditions in Cao Bang have become complicated, the tourist area has been forced to temporarily close," Ms. Hue informed.

It is known that the tourist area temporarily stopped receiving visitors from September 30 to October 3 due to the impact of storm Bualoi (storm number 10).

Due to the impact of storm No. 11, Cao Bang experienced prolonged heavy rain on the night of October 6 and the day of October 7. Water levels in rivers and streams rose, posing a risk of flooding, flash floods and landslides.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 11, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province has issued an urgent notice, requesting people to raise their vigilance, proactively prevent and closely coordinate with functional forces in responding to floods to protect life and property.

Ban Gioc Waterfall is an attractive tourist destination in Cao Bang, attracting visitors by its majestic beauty, like a fairyland with white water pouring down from a height of more than 30m.
