Steph and Chris are a famous YouTuber couple specializing in culinary exploration, with more than 250,000 subscribers on YouTube. On their channel, they often share unique culinary experiences in many countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, India, Turkey...
During their journey to Vietnam, the couple stopped in many places such as Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang... Recently, they came to Ho Chi Minh City, starting a series of videos exploring street food.
During the trip, Steph was especially excited to enjoy beefsteak - a dish she called "the best breakfast". The two guests stopped at Thanh Tuyen beefsteak restaurant in Xom Chieu ward - an address that has served both locals and tourists for more than 20 years.

As soon as she entered the restaurant, Steph was impressed by the chef's skillful preparation. The dish caught fire on the stove, but the meat and eggs were not burnt at all.
Besides, Steph also felt excited with the cow-shaped cast iron pan - a familiar tool associated with beefsteak in Vietnam. The aroma of beef spread out, making her unable to hide her excitement.
"I crave this smell, it's so fragrant it fills the entire space of the shop," she exclaimed.
Steph thinks that bo ne is like the Vietnamese version of beefsteak and eggs, but has its own flavor thanks to the marinade and diverse ingredients: beef, pate, soft-boiled eggs, served with bread, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and spices.
As she tasted it, she kept admiring the combination of crispy bread, tender beef, pate and rich soft-boiled egg. "This is a quick, convenient breakfast and the perfect way to start the day," Steph said.

Not only was Steph conquered by the food, she also enjoyed communicating a few simple Vietnamese sentences with the sellers and receiving their friendliness and openness.
During their time in Ho Chi Minh City, the couple also explored many other street foods such as beef wrapped in betel leaves, spring rolls, banh can and grilled rice paper. Steph and Chris were impressed with beef wrapped in betel leaves - a dish wrapped in leaves, with a spicy taste and unique aroma.
With grilled rice paper, both of them excitedly compared it to "Vietnamese pizza", but after tasting it, Steph had to laugh: "It's not like pizza at all". She commented that the flavor and way of preparing grilled rice paper has a very unique style.
Banh Can also left a strong impression on the YouTuber duo thanks to being baked in a clay mold over hot coals. They believe that this dish will be even more appealing when served with shredded mango and a special dipping sauce.

Two foreign guests commented that street food reflects part of Ho Chi Minh City's culinary culture (Photo: Screenshot).
At the end of the trip, Steph and Chris shared that they were extremely satisfied with the cuisine in Ho Chi Minh City. The couple commented that the street food was delicious, affordable, and full of local flavor.
According to them, street food is a "miniature picture" of the city and enjoying it is the most complete way to end a day of exploration. The two also revealed that they will continue their journey of Vietnamese cuisine in upcoming videos.
