Road to Olympia changes the rules, first female student wins laurel wreath

The first week, first month, first quarter of the 24th Road to Olympia took place on the afternoon of October 15, witnessing the competition of 4 contestants: Le Duy Thinh (Me Linh High School, Hanoi ), Dang Vo Minh Thu (Le Quy Don High School, Hau Giang), Nguyen Dinh Nam Khanh (Ha Tinh Specialized High School, Ha Tinh) and Do Thi Phuong Thao (Hoang Quoc Viet High School, Quang Ninh).

4 contestants compete in the first round of the 24th year of Road to Olympia.

The 24th edition of the Road to Olympia program has changed the rules of the game in the Warm-up round. Accordingly, this first round will have 4 rounds for each contestant and 1 round for all 4 contestants. The four contestants will take turns answering 6 separate questions. For each question, the contestant has 5 seconds (from the time the MC finishes reading the question) to give an answer, 10 points for correct answers, no points for incorrect answers.

This exam rule is completely different from the Kick-off exam in year 23; it has some similarities with year 9 (the difference is that there is no common exam after answering 6 separate questions).

Next, all 4 contestants will answer 12 questions at the same time in the general round. Contestants will have the right to answer by ringing the bell, each correct answer will be worth 10 points; if the answer is wrong or there is no answer after 5 seconds of ringing the bell, the contestant will be deducted 5 points, but no negative points will be counted. After 3 seconds from the time the question is read, if no contestant has the right to answer, the MC will announce the answer to that question.

The maximum score in the Olympia 24 Start-up round is 180 points when answering all questions correctly.

At the end of the first round, Minh Thu temporarily led the race with 70 points, Duy Thinh and Nam Khanh had 50 points, and Phuong Thao had 45 points.

The Obstacle Course competition had a 4-letter mystery. The first horizontal line chosen had the question: Which word is missing in the following idiom: "Tham bat bo..."? Only Duy Thinh gave the correct answer "Mầm".

The second selected horizontal row has the question: " In Ho Chi Minh's poetry, which lyrical image appears in the works: Viet Bac Forest Scene, Night Scene, Full Moon of January, Victory News, Boating on the Day River? All four candidates gave the correct answer "moon".

The third selected horizontal line has the question: In the poem of author Nguyen Dinh Xuan, which technical tool "Want to draw straight lines/Fumble but can't do it!"?

The question appeared, Phuong Thao pressed the bell to answer the mystery "Round" from the data that the moon and the tray are both round; the image is a full moon. This helped the Quang Ninh female student rise to the top of the mountain climbing group with 95 points. Next, Minh Thu had 80 points, Duy Thinh 70 points, Nam Khanh 60 points.

The Acceleration round saw Nam Khanh's breakthrough in scores. However, Phuong Thao still led with 175 points, Nam Khanh 170 points, Duy Thinh 130 points, Minh Thu 110 points.

In the Finish Line round, Phuong Thao chose three questions with scores of 20 - 30 - 20. The Quang Ninh female student scored points on the first and last questions, choosing Hope Star, to finish with 235 points. Next, Phuong Thao won points from the other contestants' turns.

In the final result, Do Thi Phuong Thao (Hoang Quoc Viet High School, Quang Ninh) won the first laurel wreath of the 24th Road to Olympia with 274 points. Nguyen Dinh Nam Khanh (Ha Tinh Specialized High School, Ha Tinh) came in second with 180 points.

Also in third place, Dang Vo Minh Thu (Le Quy Don High School, Hau Giang) with 130 points and Le Duy Thinh (Me Linh High School, Hanoi) with 95 points.
