This is the second time Edulife has organized the VSTEP mock exam for science students, and what makes this program more special is not only the number of participants, but also the synchronization of organization, expertise and personalized assessment.
A mock exam is held just like the real exam.
Contrary to the mentality of “practice tests are not important” of many previous students, this exam took place with the same procedures as the real exam. Students had to register in advance, be arranged in separate exam rooms in groups, and continuously practice all four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. In particular, the Speaking test was organized directly with professional examiners – each student had a specific time frame to enter the exam room, and dialogue on topics according to the official VSTEP exam structure.
In addition to getting used to the test, many students shared that the serious exam atmosphere helped them practice their exam mentality - something that often causes great pressure in real exams. Nguyen Thi Phuong (3rd year student) said: "Today's mock exam is really different from studying at home. There are people who keep track of the time, continuously testing both skills, so I know what I lack and where to start preparing."
From companion unit to professional organizing expert
Unlike the usual sponsor role, in this program, Edulife is the unit that directly builds the exam, implements the scoring structure, organizes the speaking test and provides feedback on the results. Within 72 hours after the exam, each student receives a personal assessment sheet, including scores for each skill, detailed comments from the examiner and recommendations for adjusting the study strategy.
This helps students not only know their strengths and weaknesses but also have a clear direction to prepare for the upcoming official exam. Another plus point is that after the mock exam, Edulife also provides free review materials and supports students who need to register for a crash course or intensive practice exam.
Edulife representative shared: “Our goal is not only to prepare for the exam but also to create conditions for students to experience the real exam, understand their current ability and shorten the distance to their goal.”
VSTEP – an academic stepping stone for students and working people
Many students only know that Vstep when they first start learning. Not only is it a graduation requirement, but it is also a necessary criterion when applying for graduate studies, university lecturer recruitment or civil servant recruitment. This certificate is issued by the Ministry of Education and Training according to the 6-level competency framework for Vietnam and is currently the "output standard" of hundreds of universities nationwide.
With the increasing popularity, the need for VSTEP test preparation and mock tests is becoming urgent. However, not all students have the conditions to study systematically, especially when approaching the test structure and academic speaking skills are still common weaknesses. Organizing realistic mock tests like Edulife is doing not only supplement knowledge but also create more confidence for learners.
Diversify exam preparation programs – from English to IT
In parallel with organizing mock exams, Edulife is also implementing many certificate exam preparation programs according to a personalized model, including VSTEP training at levels A2, B1, B2, and intensive skills training (speaking - writing). In addition, the center also provides IT certificate training programs. national standards, serving the output needs of students, teachers, civil servants and public employees.
Edulife currently has training facilities in Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and is expanding its online learning format with a digital learning system, interactive lectures, and a team of 1:1 learning consultants. To date, the center has served more than 200,000 students, with a 98% pass rate after the course.
Connecting training and practice
The organization of this VSTEP mock exam is not just a simple extracurricular activity but also a continuation of theoretical training and practical experience – an important but often lacking factor in the learning process at university level. Through the model of accompanying universities, Edulife is demonstrating the role of a responsible, professional training unit with a long-term vision for developing human resources proficient in foreign languages.
