The EU reaffirms its determination to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Israel and the unconditional release of all Israeli hostages, amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

The European Council has focused its efforts on promoting peace and stability in the region and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2728.
The EU expressed concern about the tension between , especially after recent attacks.
European Council President Charles Michel reaffirmed solidarity with Israel and said the EU would implement new restrictive measures against Iran.
In addition, the EU also called for the implementation of Resolution 1701 of the United Nations Security Council to ensure stability in Lebanon.
At the conference, the EU also reiterated its policy of support for Ukraine and its people.
The leaders of the 27 EU member states have agreed to increase the provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, as well as civil protection equipment such as generators and transformers, to help the Eastern European country cope with the current challenges.
Also at the extraordinary EU Summit, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed hope that NATO member states would quickly hand over six Patriot air defense missile systems to Ukraine.
“We hope to find six more (Patriot) systems in NATO and I will also take the opportunity here to promote this proposal in many discussions,” Chancellor Scholz said.
