EVNNPT cooperates with Dong Thap province to deploy urgent power transmission project

(Chinhphu.vn) - The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) has just had a working session with the People's Committee of Dong Thap province on the implementation of the 220kV Hong Ngu - Chau Doc transmission line project and the 220kV Hong Ngu transformer station project.

As required by the Prime Minister , these projects must be completed by August 2025 to ensure electricity supply for Dong Thap province and neighboring areas.

Reporting at the meeting, EVNNPT representative said: Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, EVNNPT and its affiliated unit, the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB), are focusing on implementing urgent power transmission grid projects passing through Dong Thap province: 220kV Hong Ngu - Chau Doc line and 220kV Hong Ngu transformer station.

The Hong Ngu - Chau Doc 220kV transmission line project has a scale of constructing a new 220kV transmission line about 30.6 km long (including a 2-circuit section about 29.62 km long and a 4-circuit section about 0.95 km long), from the Hong Ngu 220kV substation to the Chau Doc 220kV substation. The project is expected to start construction in July 2025.

The line passes through the districts of Hong Ngu city, Hong Ngu and Tam Nong districts (Dong Thap province) and Phu Tan and Chau Phu districts, Chau Doc city (An Giang province). The line consists of 28 pillars passing through the administrative units of Dong Thap province.

For the 220kV Hong Ngu substation project, it is built in An Binh A ward, Hong Ngu city, Dong Thap province, to synchronize with the 220kV Hong Ngu - Chau Doc line. The project has a scale of 2x250MVA, this phase invests 1x250MVA.

At the meeting, EVNNPT General Director Pham Le Phu thanked the authorities of Dong Thap province for always supporting EVNNPT in investing in construction as well as managing and operating the power transmission grid in the province, thereby helping EVNNPT successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Government and EVN.

Currently, EVNNPT has been assigned by the Prime Minister to implement 2 projects in Dong Thap province to contribute to ensuring energy security and serving socio-economic development in the province. According to the Prime Minister's direction, these 2 projects must be completed in August 2025.

Coordinate and speed up project progress

Given the urgent nature of the project, EVNNPT requested the People's Committee of Dong Thap province to direct departments, branches and the People's Committees of Hong Ngu district, Tam Nong district and Hong Ngu city to help create favorable conditions for SPMB to complete the measurement and approval of the project's cadastral map in June 2025.

At the same time, direct the People's Committees of Hong Ngu city, Hong Ngu district, Tam Nong district and departments and branches to shorten the time for site clearance compensation; coordinate to mobilize people to agree to receive advance payment to hand over the site in June 2025.

Direct local agencies implementing compensation, support and resettlement to coordinate with SPMB to organize meetings with people, issue notices of land recovery and inventory.

Speed ​​up the survey work to establish specific compensation land prices, promptly approve specific land prices to serve as a basis for establishing and approving compensation plans, and timely payment to affected households in August 2025. Direct departments, branches, sectors and authorities at all levels to create favorable conditions and support EVNNPT/SPMB during the project construction process.

At the meeting, leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities of Dong Thap province, leaders of EVNNPT and EVNNPT's professional departments exchanged and discussed and agreed on plans and implementation methods to speed up the project's site clearance progress.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, thanked EVNNPT for investing in transmission projects to meet electricity demand for the province's socio-economic development.

Regarding these two projects, the Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee emphasized that these are two national key projects directed by the Prime Minister and required to be completed in August 2025. This is a very urgent progress, so departments, branches and localities need to urgently deploy and immediately start working with the most determined spirit.

Immediately after this meeting, EVNNPT, SPMB, and the consulting unit closely coordinated with the local authorities of Dong Thap province to clearly define the boundaries, route directions, construction data, houses, and architectural structures that need to be cleared so that the districts could develop a plan to reclaim land and clear the project's site and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.

Relevant departments and branches closely coordinate and guide localities in the province on compensation, site clearance, and resettlement support. In particular, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for coordinating with localities on land data for site clearance and land recovery. The Department of Construction coordinates with localities to immediately develop a housing resettlement plan for people.

During the implementation process, localities need to actively promote and mobilize people to agree and support the national key project, contributing to ensuring electricity for the socio-economic development of the province.

The leaders of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee also requested EVNNPT to closely coordinate with departments, branches and localities to promptly resolve difficulties with the goal of shortening the time for site clearance compensation to have more time for construction due to the urgent nature of the project. During the process, it is necessary to actively propagate and mobilize people to understand and agree with the project for smooth project implementation.
