EVNSPC: Nearly 10 billion VND was contributed to support compatriots to overcome the consequences of storms, floods, natural disasters and the people of Cuba

(Chinhphu.vn) - Recently, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) organized fundraising events to support people in the Central and Northern provinces affected by storms, floods, and natural disasters, and to share difficulties with the Cuban people, earning 10 billion VND from the program.

The fundraising event was held directly at the General Corporation's Headquarters and connected online to member units and affiliated establishments via video conference, attracting nearly 2,050 delegates including employees and students to attend the Two-Component Electricity Retail Price Training Course.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Van Trang, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc, General Director; members of the Board of Members, Deputy General Director, Chairman of the Trade Union, Secretary of the Youth Union and a large number of employees; the event also received the support of Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Xuan Hoi, Principal of the Northern College of Electricity.

In recent times, consecutive storms have caused severe damage in the Central and Northern mountainous regions, thousands of houses were damaged, many residential areas were flooded and isolated; infrastructure and people's property were destroyed, seriously affecting their lives and livelihoods.

Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the spirit of "Voluntary - At will", EVNSPC employees joined hands to contribute, with a total amount of nearly 10 billion VND from units, officers, employees and workers, hoping to help people overcome difficulties soon.

At EVNSPC alone, the donation amount reached 170.5 million VND, which will be transferred to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City; member units will also transfer the amount to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees in localities as soon as possible.

Previously, on October 8, 2025, the General Director and the EVNSPC Trade Union issued Joint Directive No. 9441/CTLT EVNSPC CD, calling on each employee to contribute at least one day's salary to support compatriots to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods and the Cuban people, promoting the tradition of "mutual love and support" of the nation.

In addition to fundraising activities, in the first 9 months of 2025, EVNSPC has spent more than 20.5 billion VND on social security activities, including supporting the construction of 315 houses for extremely disadvantaged households in the southern provinces under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister . The timely handover of completed houses has contributed to stabilizing people's lives and improving their quality of life.

This support activity demonstrates EVNSPC's social responsibility, affirms the spirit of sharing and solidarity, "lighting up the village" and spreading profound human values ​​- in line with EVN's motto "Lighting up trust".
