Part of the reason is that FIFA tickets are selling for too much, with the lowest price reaching $230. Online ticket site Ticketmaster has reduced the price to $55 to convince those who are still hesitant to buy tickets.

FIFA recently made another bold move to increase the number of spectators, at least for the opening match, by offering students at Miami Dade College the opportunity to buy tickets at a deep discount (just $20) to attend the Club World Cup.

Miami Dade College has more than 100,000 students, and through cheaper tickets, these students will be able to buy tickets to watch the opening match of the Club World Cup with the presence of famous player Messi, Marca said.

"Students have received an offer (sent to their email) to buy one ticket for $20, along with four additional tickets at no extra cost. This will also reduce the average ticket price to just $4 per ticket. This will certainly attract a large number of student fans to the Club World Cup. However, students must verify their registration at their school to be eligible to buy tickets," Marca added.
