Ford has officially introduced the 2026 version of the Puma Gen-E small electric SUV with a series of upgrades focusing on performance and technology. This is a slightly improved version of the model launched at the end of 2024, now refined to increase range and enhance user experience. One of the highlights of the 2026 Ford Puma Gen-E is the increased range according to WLTP standards to 400 km – an increase of 24 km compared to the previous generation. In urban conditions, this figure can be up to 550 km, significantly reducing the need for charging during daily trips.
While the battery capacity remains the same at 43 kWh, Ford says the improvement comes from an optimized battery design. However, the company has not released details on each version, including the standard version with 17-inch wheels and the Premium with 18-inch wheels. The car still uses a single electric motor for 166 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, front-wheel drive. With these parameters, the 2026 Puma Gen-E becomes an equal competitor to models in the same segment such as the Jeep Avenger, Fiat 600e, Peugeot E-2008 or Mini Aceman. However, compared to the Kia EV3 Long Range – a model capable of traveling up to 604 km per charge – the Puma is still inferior in terms of operating range. Notably, from spring 2026, the Puma Gen-E will be equipped with the high-level autonomous driving assistance system BlueCruise – allowing the driver to “go hands-free” when traveling on the highway.
BlueCruise on the 2026 Ford Puma Gen-E is a technology that Ford is actively deploying on its vehicles in Europe, including the Kuga and Ranger PHEV. To date, BlueCruise has been licensed to operate in 16 markets and supported more than 135,000 km of highways. In terms of design, the 2026 Puma Gen-E has no major changes compared to the current version. The car still retains its characteristic grille-less design, sharing the body with the previous facelifted mild hybrid version. The interior remains the same with a 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch central display. Ford also continues to equip the “Gigabox” storage compartment under the rear trunk floor, increasing the total cargo volume to 574 liters in the rear compartment and an additional 43 liters in the front compartment.
In the UK, the 2026 Ford Puma Gen-E has begun taking orders with a starting price of £26,245 (approximately $34,500), unchanged from the previous generation. However, customers will enjoy additional incentives and new support from local electric vehicle incentive programs. Video : Introducing the new Ford Puma Gen-E small electric SUV.
