Fortune sees Southeast Asia as a region poised to capitalize on the shift in global supply chains and the boom in industries such as mining, electric vehicles (EVs) and artificial intelligence (AI).

The Fortune Southeast Asia Top 500 ranking evaluates companies in seven countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and Cambodia based on 2024 revenue criteria.

This is the second year Fortune has compiled a ranking in Southeast Asia to reflect the region's impressive growth story through the development and growth of large companies across multiple sectors.

FPT's presence in this list is not only a testament to its sustainable growth capacity and outstanding business performance, but also affirms FPT 's pioneering role in promoting digital transformation and innovation in Vietnam and the region.

Most recently, the Government issued Resolution No. 1131/NQ-CP of the Government announcing 11 groups of strategic technology products that have a profound impact on the country's competitiveness and technological autonomy. FPT has been researching 7/11 of these strategic technology groups, which are artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, blockchain, robotics and automation, semiconductor chips, network security, and aerospace technology.

According to Mr. Vu Anh Tu, FPT Technology Director, “Over the past 40 years, FPT has grown up with the development of Vietnamese technology. From the first days of computerizing economic sectors, to automation, then digital transformation, and now AI transformation, every step is associated with the aspiration to bring Vietnam further on the world technology map.”

Over the past decades, FPT has been proactively investing in research and development and capacity building to keep up with the world's latest technology trends. In 2024, FPT announced the AI - Sales - Vehicles - Digital - Green strategy (Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, Digital Automotive Technology, Digital Transformation and Green Transformation), in which AI is the most important strategic pillar. For FPT, pursuing AI is not only a long-term strategy but also the ability to quickly catch up with global technology movements. Whenever a new trend appears in the world, FPT tries to catch up quickly.

In the country, FPT has introduced AI into the curriculum from elementary to university, with the desire to build a young generation capable of quickly accessing and mastering new technology as soon as it appears.

In 2025, the Group will continue to focus its strategy on AI integration, thereby increasing its global influence and consolidating its position as a leading digital transformation service provider.
