The joint venture aims to promote digital transformation of Japan's manufacturing industry, with automobiles as a strategic focus area.
The cooperation betweenFPT and Smart Holdings has been enhanced through the establishment of a joint venture company, in which FPT and Smart Holdings hold 49% and 51% of shares respectively.
This collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for digital transformation in the Japanese manufacturing industry, especially in the trends of software-defined vehicles (SDV), mobility as a service, and carbon neutrality.
The joint venture inherits FPT's deep technological capabilities in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), digital and visual-language modeling and Smart Holdings' deep experience in the Japanese manufacturing industry as well as its extensive network of partners with leading automobile corporations.
In the initial phase, FST-Japan will focus on developing projects with a major automotive corporation, and then expand to other customers in the automotive industry. FST-Japan's key areas include digitalizing design drawings, improving the quality of solution proposals, and supporting manufacturers to meet strict standards for quality, cost, and schedule.
Over the next five years, the company expects to create business opportunities worth about $20 million (3 billion yen).

Mr. Do Van Khac, Deputy General Director of FPT Software and General Director of FPT Japan, FPT Corporation, affirmed: "The establishment of the joint venture is part of our long-term strategy with the goal of promoting the digitalization of Japanese industry, especially the automobile sector".
“We will create new value by combining global experience and world- class human resources with direct implementation capabilities and Japanese quality, thereby providing advanced services to manufacturing enterprises, especially customers in the automotive industry,” emphasized Mr. Koichiro Sato, President and CEO of Smart Holdings.
