After months of teasing, Samsung's ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge has finally arrived. The S25 Edge is positioned between the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of price, but focuses on aesthetics, light weight, and rare thinness.

While still packing top-of-the-line specs, Samsung has decided to ditch familiar elements like the telephoto camera and reduce battery capacity in exchange for those.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is attractive enough for users with its design and configuration including a 200MP main camera, 6.7-inch OLED screen and Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

But it also leaves buyers hesitant because of the $1,099 price tag, which encroaches on the Galaxy S25 Ultra's segment .

The S25 Edge is much thinner than any previous Galaxy S phone. If you ignore the camera bump, it's just 5.8mm thick, about 2.4mm thinner than the S25 Ultra.

Notably, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 0.2mm thinner when unfolded, so the S25 Edge isn't the thinnest smartphone Samsung has ever made.

But regardless, 5.8mm is still very thin for a traditional bar phone, and some reviewers found it to be very light in the hand. It weighs just 163g — not too far off from the weight of the Galaxy S25 but with a similar large size to the Galaxy S25 Plus.

The other notable design element of the phone is the camera module, which looks very different from all the phones in the Galaxy S25 generation, which have been uniform in aesthetics over the past year.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is considered a phone that is assembled from pieces of devices in the S25 series. It is an exact copy of the Galaxy S25 Plus' display (including specifications), with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and QHD+ resolution.

The only notable difference here is that the glass covering the display is Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, rather than the Gorilla Glass Armor 2 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Ceramic version is just as durable as the Armor version, but it lacks the Armor's anti-reflective coating, which has been highly praised on the S25 Ultra over time.

Samsung takes the battery and charging capabilities from the base Galaxy S25 model, with the Galaxy S25 Edge charging at 25W via cable and 15W wirelessly. It's worth noting that 25W is much slower than the Plus and Ultra, both of which charge at 45W. The Galaxy S25 Edge's battery is actually even smaller than the Galaxy S25's, despite the phone being significantly larger with a higher-resolution display.

The S25 Edge's battery has a capacity of 3,900mAh, which is slightly less than the Galaxy S25's 4,000mAh. During the introduction, Samsung said the S25 Edge has a longer battery life than the Galaxy S24 but less than the Galaxy S25, Android Authority said.
