Nearly 200 teams compete in the biggest football tournament in Binh Duong

VHO - The Becamex Group Community Football Tournament, the predecessor of the Binh Duong Cup Becamex IDC New City Football Tournament, first held in 2006, was opened on the morning of June 29 in Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong Province).

In the 18th edition, the tournament took place from June 21 to October 19, 2025, attracting 196 teams with nearly 5,000 athletes who are civil servants, public employees, workers, and people to compete.

Delegates of Binh Duong province, leaders of units and the Organizing Committee performed the opening ceremony of the tournament.

Participating teams are divided into a total of 50 competition groups and compete every Saturday and Sunday.

The teams competed in the qualifying round at 4 stadiums including VSIP 1 Industrial Park football field (Thuan An City), Go Dau football field (Thu Dau Mot City), Binh Duong New City Administrative Center football field and My Phuoc Industrial Park football field (Ben Cat City).

The organizing committee selected 16 teams with the best performance from 4 clusters to compete in the final round.

The overall champion of the tournament will receive a prize of 100 million VND, the remaining prizes are 60 million VND, 40 million VND and 20 million VND for the second, third and fourth place teams respectively.

After 18 years, the tournament has been held regularly every year, creating a healthy, useful and practical playground for tens of thousands of civil servants, public employees and workers living and working in Binh Duong and neighboring provinces and cities, contributing to the development of the football movement in particular and the sports movement in general in the Southern region.

196 football teams from units inside and outside the province participated in the tournament.

Up to now, the tournament has always held the record as the grassroots football tournament with the largest number of participating teams in the country.

The tournament is a meaningful sports activity, enhancing the spirit of connection and creating solidarity and friendship between units, businesses and localities.

With the spirit of noble sportsmanship, solidarity and honesty, the Tournament has created a healthy and beneficial playground to improve health for studying, working and producing, while contributing to further developing the sports movement of Binh Duong province and neighboring provinces and cities.

The players competed enthusiastically and impressively right after the opening ceremony of the tournament.

The tournament always receives the attention of fans and enthusiastic participation of agencies, localities, and businesses inside and outside the province.

Thereby, it is considered the grassroots football tournament with the largest number of participating teams in the country.

At the opening ceremony of the tournament, the Vietnam Football Federation announced its decision to award the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Football" Medal to individuals with outstanding contributions to the cause of building and developing football in Binh Duong province.

Accordingly, there are 3 individuals with this honor, including: Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC Corporation - Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Binh Duong Province Football Federation - Vu Duc Thanh and Deputy Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong Province - Cao Van Chong.
