Nearly 400 unlicensed games and gambling games released in Vietnam have been removed.

In 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with functional units to scan and block advertising channels, gambling games, and prize exchange games on cyberspace.

The inspection process discovered that 667 fanpages advertising gambling and prize-winning games on the Facebook platform were removed (reaching a rate of 95%); more than 5,300 domain names related to advertising fraud, organizing gambling and gambling on the internet were blocked and handled.

Scanning and detecting more than 600 unlicensed and gambling games on foreign app markets, requiring payment intermediary service providers to not connect payments; following the request of the authorities, Apple removed 90 games, Google removed 294 unlicensed and gambling games released across borders into Vietnam.

In addition, the Ministry of Information and Communications also reviewed and disciplined 45 organizations and individuals regarding the provision of electronic games. Of these, 10 cases were fined with a total of 535 million VND.

Violations include: changing the address of the server providing G1 electronic game services but not notifying on time; stopping providing G1 electronic game services but not reporting in writing to the competent state agency; providing G1 electronic game services without a decision approving the content of the G1 electronic game script; not meeting the technical conditions for providing G1 electronic game services...

In addition, one case was additionally punished by being forced to stop operating for 1.5 months and one case was stopped from releasing G1 games for 2 months.

Advertising on cross-border platforms requires reviewing and requesting the removal of illegal ads. Advertisers must not cooperate with illegal sites and channels. Continue to expand the "White List" to 8,000 websites, electronic newspapers, content channels, and verified accounts.
