(CLO) Passengers at LaGuardia Airport in New York (USA) were shocked to see a raccoon fall from the ceiling at the plane's exit.
Video shared on social media shows a chaotic scene at the gate of a Spirit Airlines flight, where a raccoon is clinging to a cable suspended from the ceiling.
Eventually, the raccoon lost its grip and fell. Passengers panicked as they heard the animal screeching as it ran across the floor. The person who recorded the video said the raccoon ran around the gate for about five minutes before staff removed it.

"To ensure a positive experience for our low-cost passengers flying from New York, we immediately notified our facilities team and are addressing the issue with a professional wildlife control company," Spirit Airlines said.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on November 4, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. "The raccoon was located and released, and there have been no further reports of sightings," the Port Authority said. No injuries were reported.
Raccoons are an invasive species in Germany, where an estimated two million live. A butcher in the northeast of the country, Michael Reiss, said last month that he had come up with an innovative solution to the problem of invasive raccoons. He turns them into sausages and other meat products like meatballs.
