Specifically, according to the information reported by residents in Hamlet 1, Suoi Nho Commune, Dinh Quan District, there were 2 dogs with unknown owners and origins wandering in the residential area. Among them, the dog with white-yellow fur, weighing about 12kg, bit a passerby. Both dogs were later captured by residents. Test results of 2 dog head samples showed that both dogs had rabies.

The relevant units then proceeded to destroy the 2 dogs according to regulations. At the same time, they instructed and requested pet owners in Hamlet 1 to keep their dogs in captivity and not let them roam freely on the streets; monitor the health of their pets, and if they see any unusual signs, they must immediately notify the local authorities and veterinary agencies. For people, if they are bitten by a dog, they should contact the medical center for instructions on rabies vaccination.

The results of the epidemiological investigation in the area around Hamlet 1, Suoi Nho Commune, show that there are 7 households raising 10 dogs. However, the majority of dogs are raised freely, without muzzles, and have not been vaccinated against rabies.

Since the beginning of 2025, Dinh Quan district has recorded 5 cases of rabies in dogs in Gia Canh commune (2 cases) and Suoi Nho commune (3 cases). This shows that the rabies epidemic is complicated and tends to increase rapidly.

Dong Nai Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries requested the People's Committee of Dinh Quan district to direct the People's Committee of Suoi Nho commune to quickly isolate and thoroughly handle the disease to prevent it from spreading. Compulsory destruction of sick animals; encourage the destruction of dogs and cats showing signs of rabies; dogs and cats that have not been vaccinated against rabies but have been in contact with dogs and cats with rabies. In case of not destroying, they must be kept in isolation for monitoring for 14 days. If dogs and cats develop rabies, they must be destroyed according to regulations.
