Corn prices are falling sharply.

(HG) - Many corn growers in the province said that due to the abundant supply, as well as other fruits such as longan, rambutan, grapefruit, longan, mangosteen... in the harvest season, besides, this is also the corn harvest time of many other provinces such as Bac Lieu , Dong Thap... so the price of corn is down more than 200 VND/fruit compared to about 2 months ago. Specifically, traders are currently buying sticky corn at the farm for 2,200 VND/fruit of the best quality, and 2 fruits for 1 for the second quality.

Due to the high supply, the price of corn is low, causing farmers to lose income.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Khanh, in Hamlet 7, Vinh Vien A Commune, Long My District, has just harvested 3 hectares of corn to sell to traders, sharing: "Each hectare of corn after 70 days of planting will yield about 3 thousand fruits (1 thousand 1,000 fruits), with the current price, after deducting production costs, corn growers will no longer make a profit". However, corn growers still hope that prices will increase again like many years ago.
