Consulting on draft resolution on digital economic development, innovation, promoting science and technology activities in Dong Thap province

DTO - On May 23, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a conference to collect opinions on the draft Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on developing the digital economy , innovation, and promoting science and technology activities in Dong Thap province (resolution). Many experts, representatives of universities and colleges in and outside the province, departments, branches, businesses, etc. attended the conference.

It is known that, in order to implement Plan No. 309-KH/TU dated January 20, 2025 of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee to implement the conclusion of General Secretary To Lam during his visit and working session with Dong Thap province, the Department of Science and Technology was assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to advise on the development of a resolution on digital economic development, innovation, and promotion of science and technology activities in Dong Thap province.

The draft resolution states: Developing the digital economy, innovation, science and technology is the leading important breakthrough, the driving force and main resource for the province's socio-economic development, the decisive factor in improving productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy; is one of the breakthroughs for rapid and sustainable development; restructuring the economy associated with renewing the growth model, taking the digital economy, innovation, science and technology as the driving force, resource and leader in the coming time...

The draft resolution sets out the goal: The digital economy must be comprehensively developed on all three pillars: digital technology, digital platform economy and digital economy in industries and fields, closely linked to national digital transformation, science and technology development and innovation. Innovation is comprehensively deployed in all fields, especially in agriculture, processing industry, services and state administration, contributing to building a province that is dynamic, highly adaptive and transforms the growth model in the context of digital transformation and international integration. At the same time, strengthen the capacity for research, application, transfer and innovation of technology in both the public and private sectors; promote the linkage between the state - scientists - enterprises; form an effective science and technology ecosystem, linked to the reality and specific development needs of the province.
