Domestic coffee price over 59,000 VND/kg

Domestic coffee prices were updated at 4:18 a.m. on November 16, 2023, with a slight decrease of 200 - 300 VND/kg. Currently, the average coffee price in the Central Highlands provinces is about 59,000 VND/kg, with the highest purchase price being 59,200 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces on November 16, 2023 was quite high at VND 59,000/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee was purchased at VND 59,100/kg.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha is purchased at 58,500 VND/kg.

In Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province, coffee was purchased at the highest price, at 59,100 VND/kg, while in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it was purchased at the same price of 59,200 VND/kg.

Pepper prices increased simultaneously, highest at 70,500 VND/kg

Pepper prices today in the Central Highlands and Southeast regions continue to increase sharply, ranging from 67,500 - 70,500 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper prices in the Central Highlands ranged from 67,500 VND/kg - 68,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Of which, Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) was purchased by traders at 67,500 VND/kg, Dak Lak pepper price and Dak Nong pepper price were purchased at 68,500 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices also increased by 500 VND/kg, ranging from 69,500 VND/kg - 70,500 VND/kg.

Preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs show that Vietnam's pepper exports in October 2023 increased again, reaching 19,401 tons, up 7.1% compared to September and up 11.6% over the same period in 2022. The turnover reached 73.18 million USD, up 8.4% compared to September and up 10.6% over the same period in 2022.

The average export price of pepper in October 2023 increased again, reaching 3,772 USD/ton, up 1.2% compared to September 2023, but still down 0.8% compared to the same period in 2022. In the first 10 months of 2023, the average export price of pepper reached 3,352 USD/ton, down 23.1% compared to the same period in 2022.

Gold prices continue to rise sharply

At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on November 16, 2023, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 69.70 million VND/tael for buying and 70.55 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 69.60 - 70.35 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 69.76 - 70.50 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 69.76 - 70.70 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

Japanese Yen and VCB Yen exchange rates unexpectedly increase after a long period of decline

Today's Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of November 16, 2023 at banks, specifically as follows:

At Vietcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate is 156.53 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 165.70 VND/JPY, up 0.4 VND in both buying and selling. At Vietinbank, the Yen exchange rate increased 0.98 VND in both buying and selling, equivalent to 157.37 VND/JPY and 167.07 VND/JPY.

At BIDV, the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 0.72 VND for buying and 0.74 VND for selling, reaching 157.48 VND/JPY and 165.75 VND/JPY, respectively. At Agribank, the buying and selling rates were 158.80 VND/JPY and 163.74 VND/JPY, respectively - increasing by 0.45 VND for buying and 0.48 VND for selling.

At Eximbank, the buying rate increased by 0.45 VND and the selling rate increased by 0.48 VND, respectively, to 158.63 VND/JPY and 163.06 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the buying rate and selling rate increased by 0.25 VND, respectively, to 154.46 VND/JPY and 165.43 VND/JPY. At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 0.91 VND and the selling rate increased by 0.89 VND, respectively, to 158.86 VND/JPY and 165.43 VND/JPY.

Thus, according to the survey, Sacombank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.
