Pig price in the North
In the Northern region, the live hog market on June 15 did not record any significant fluctuations. The price continued to move sideways as in recent sessions, fluctuating between 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg. This is the most stable region in the country throughout the past week.
Specifically, localities such as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang are maintaining the price of 69,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the provinces of Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh have slightly lower prices, around 68,000 VND/kg. Both groups have maintained the same price as yesterday.
The stability in the North reflects a clear balance between supply and demand. Supply is neither excessively abundant nor scarce, while purchasing power in traditional markets and modern distribution channels is slowing down.
Pig price in Central Highlands
The Central Highlands region today recorded a common price level of 68,000 - 73,000 VND/kg. Notably, most localities kept the same price as the previous day, only a few places recorded new prices.
Lam Dong and Binh Thuan are currently leading the region with prices of VND73,000/kg, followed by Ninh Thuan at VND72,000/kg. The group of provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa are stable at VND69,000/kg.
Hue, Ha Tinh and Quang Tri recorded the lowest price of 68,000 VND/kg. Binh Dinh and Dak Lak continued to maintain prices at 69,000 and 70,000 VND/kg respectively, showing a trend of maintaining the old price level although supply still showed signs of a slight increase in some localities.
The stable trend shows that this region has not been under too much pressure from supply pressure like in the South, while domestic consumption is still taking place regularly through commercial channels.
Southern pig price
The price of live pigs in the South today fluctuates from 72,000 - 74,000 VND/kg, the region with the highest price level in the country. While many localities still keep the price unchanged, some places such as Long An, Dong Thap and An Giang have slightly adjusted.
The provinces of Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu are maintaining the level of 74,000 VND/kg - the highest in the country. The group of provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Tien Giang, Soc Trang and Tra Vinh are stable at 73,000 VND/kg.
Long An recorded an adjustment from 74,000 to 72,000 VND/kg today. Similarly, Dong Thap, An Giang and Tay Ninh are trading around 72,000 - 73,000 VND/kg, remaining unchanged or slightly adjusted depending on the region.
Pressure from increased supply due to favorable weather and large-scale farming at processing farms has caused some localities to make adjustments. However, thanks to a strong distribution system and stable purchasing power, pork prices in the South generally remain high.
