Northern pig price
In the Northern region, the live hog market this morning (November 19) witnessed an increase of 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg in many localities. The current purchase price ranges from 48,000 to 51,000 VND/kg.

After adjustment, the provinces of Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Phu Tho and Hung Yen all increased to 50,000 VND/kg. In the next group, Lao Cai, Cao Bang and Lang Son reached 49,000 VND/kg, while Lai Chau increased to 48,000 VND/kg. Notably, Hai Phong and Ninh Binh currently hold the highest level in the region at 51,000 VND/kg. Only Dien Bien, Son La and Hanoi remain stable, with no price fluctuations.
Pig price in Central Highlands
The live hog market in the Central and Central Highlands regions this morning recorded an upward trend. According to the update, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An both increased by 2,000 VND/kg, bringing the price to 49,000 VND/kg. The two localities of Dak Lak and Gia Lai also increased slightly, reaching 48,000 VND/kg and 47,000 VND/kg, respectively.
The remaining provinces and cities in the region still maintain stable prices, with no changes. Currently, traders in the Central region are purchasing live pigs at prices ranging from 46,000 to 49,000 VND/kg.
Southern pig price
Also recording a similar trend, the live hog market in the Southern region increased slightly this morning. In Dong Thap and Vinh Long, the price increased by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 49,000 VND/kg and 48,000 VND/kg respectively.
According to the latest survey, the transaction price in the region fluctuates from 48,000 to 50,000 VND/kg. Of which, Vinh Long continues to be the locality with the lowest price at 48,000 VND/kg, while Ca Mau holds the leading position at 50,000 VND/kg.
Livestock development plan in Bac Ninh to 2030
Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi has signed and issued Plan 133 to implement the decisions of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture and Environment on the orientation for livestock development until 2030, according to Agriculture & Environment Newspaper.
The plan proposes the comprehensive application of scientific and technological advances in breeding, barn construction, and waste management, aiming for a modern, safe, and effective livestock industry.
The focus of the plan is on the application of high technology in the processing of agricultural, industrial and food by-products to produce animal feed in an industrialized direction, while increasing economic efficiency and usage value. The development of biological products, herbs and natural compounds is considered an alternative to antibiotics, contributing to improving productivity and product quality.
Bac Ninh aims to be able to proactively meet at least 95% of the demand for pig breeds and 85% of the demand for poultry breeds by 2030. In addition, over 60% of the value of livestock products will be produced according to good or equivalent processes, and the scale of farm livestock is expected to account for more than 65% of the total livestock herd, gradually shifting towards commodity production.
The locality also prioritizes the development of livestock breeding industry using biotechnology, advanced selection techniques and public-private partnership models. In addition, the conservation, exploitation and development of native genetic resources associated with regional brands are considered key tasks, aiming to create competitive advantages and promote agricultural tourism.
The plan also mentions the application of codes and barcodes in traceability and quality management of breeds; at the same time, research on the application of digital technology to automate production, control the supply chain and ensure food safety. Enterprises are encouraged to invest in the breed sector through public-private partnerships, contributing to the construction of a high-tech livestock ecosystem in the locality.
The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with departments, branches and commune-level People's Committees to guide, inspect and urge the implementation of policies to attract investment, support the development of livestock breeds and technologies. In addition, the province also organized training and propaganda on legal regulations on animal feed and livestock breeds according to the Law on Animal Husbandry.
In addition, Bac Ninh will strengthen measures to support brand building and development, intellectual property protection for key livestock products; promote traceability and production according to high-tech models, circular economy, towards improving productivity, quality, food safety and adaptation to climate change.
