Pig price on November 20, 2024: North and Central regions stable, South slightly increased

DNVN - On November 20, 2024, the price of live pigs in the North and Central regions remained unchanged, while the Southern region recorded a slight increase. According to the results of a nationwide survey, the price of live pigs is currently between 60,000 and 63,000 VND/kg.

In the North, the live hog market continues to remain stable, with common transactions ranging from 61,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

In detail, Lao Cai and Ninh Binh still maintain the lowest transaction price in the region, reaching 61,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands

In this morning's session, the Central Highlands provinces recorded no fluctuations, with live pig prices fluctuating from 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh and Lam Dong maintained the price of 61,000 VND/kg.

Other provinces in the region still buy live pigs at 60,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South

In the South, the price of live pigs today increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, trading from 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in Hau Giang and An Giang , prices increased to 61,000 VND/kg and 62,000 VND/kg respectively.

Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh are the places with the lowest prices in the region, at 60,000 VND/kg.

On November 20, the price of live pigs across the country fluctuated between 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg. With the African swine fever epidemic still complicated, farmers need to implement strict disease prevention measures to protect their pigs and maintain supply for the market at the end of the year.

During this period, stakeholders, including farmers and processing enterprises, need to adjust their strategies to both ensure profits and maintain stable supply.

According to information from Thai Nguyen Newspaper, there are 1,255 livestock farms in the province, accounting for more than 45% of the province's total fresh meat output. Of these, 1,200 pig and chicken farms apply biosafety, disease safety and food safety standards.

When livestock and poultry diseases such as African swine fever, anthrax, foot-and-mouth disease, etc. are still complicated, promoting safe livestock farming is very important.

These measures not only help control the epidemic but also ensure product quality for consumers, while enhancing management efficiency at farms, especially with chains linking from production to consumption.

Recently, many localities in Thai Nguyen have implemented measures to support people in building livestock farms that meet standards of disease safety, biosafety and food safety.
