Gia Lai: Assigned the task of searching for and collecting the remains of martyrs who died during the war in Cambodia

(GLO)- On the afternoon of November 17, the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command held a conference to assign tasks to Team K52 (Political Department) to search for and collect the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia, dry season 2025-2026.

Implementing the plan of the Steering Committee 515 of Gia Lai province, from the beginning of June 2025 until now, Team K52 has proactively overcome difficulties, isolated and identified key areas, organized propaganda, surveyed and found 28 pieces of information in 254 villages/47 communes and wards in 13 districts and 3 cities of 3 northeastern provinces of Cambodia (Ratanakiri, Stungtreng and Preah Vihear).

At the same time, the Team proactively advised the Political Department, Party Committee, and Provincial Military Command to deploy forces, technical means, materials, and funding to ensure the implementation of tasks.

In his speech assigning the mission, Colonel Nguyen The Vinh praised the spirit and achievements of Team K52 in the past time. The Commander of the Provincial Military Command requested: The team continues to do a good job of preparation, promptly propose and resolve problems and issues arising while waiting to carry out the mission in the neighboring country. Continue to strengthen training and foster skills in professional work such as: determining coordinates, searching on topographic maps; methods of searching and collecting martyrs' remains; learning about local customs and practices and learning Cambodian.

During the search and gathering process, officers and soldiers of Team K52 must be united and determined to overcome all difficulties and hardships; strictly comply with the regimes, policies, regulations and discipline of the army; do well in mass mobilization and international diplomacy, contributing to strengthening the special relationship, solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
