Gia Lai: Donated over 13,500 books and stories to students in disadvantaged areas

(GLO)- In response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025, since April, units and localities in Gia Lai province have actively launched a campaign to donate books and stories to students in schools in extremely disadvantaged areas, remote areas.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province, from April 2025 to present, agencies, units and localities have organized many practical activities, creating a spread of reading culture. These activities include: book displays, exhibitions, exchanges, discussions, dramatization of literary works..., arousing the love of reading in students and the community.

In particular, units and localities have actively launched a campaign to donate books and stories to students in schools in extremely disadvantaged areas and remote areas.

Some units have implemented well, including: Sao Viet Primary, Secondary and High School donated 610 books; Mang Yang District Departmentof Education and Training: 1,774 books; Kong Chro District Department of Education and Training: 2,103 books of stories and newspapers; Provincial Library donated and presented nearly 9,000 copies of books of all kinds.

Currently, units are continuing to donate books, especially textbooks according to the new general education program, to give to students in remote areas and students in difficult circumstances to prepare for the new school year 2025-2026.
