According to the Meteorological Agency, the amount of rain recorded from 7pm on June 4 to 3am on June 5 at many locations exceeded 100mm. Some places had very heavy rain such as: Nham (Hue) 175.6mm, Ba Long (Quang Tri) 160.2mm, Dai Son (Yen Bai) 158.8mm, Na Muong (Son La) 127.8mm, Cao Son ( Hoa Binh ) 130mm, Nam Giai (Nghe An) 116.6mm and Dak Pxi (Kon Tum) 97.4mm.
It is forecasted that today (June 5), thunderstorms will continue to develop complicatedly in many areas across the country.
In the Northwest and Viet Bac regions, scattered showers and thunderstorms will appear from early morning and may last until night. Some places may have heavy rain with common rainfall from 10 - 30mm, some places over 70mm. Northern mountainous provinces, especially Yen Bai, Son La, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, need to be on guard against the risk of flash floods and landslides on steep slopes and along streams.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue continues to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, concentrated in the early morning, late afternoon and night. Warnings of localized heavy rain with rainfall of 10 - 30mm, some places exceeding 70mm, which can cause localized flooding in low-lying and urban areas.

In the Central Highlands and the South, showers and thunderstorms are forecast to occur mainly in the afternoon and evening. Rainfall is generally 10 - 30mm, with some places receiving over 70mm. Localities such as Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and the Southeast region should be aware of the risk of thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusts of wind and lightning.
The Meteorological Agency warns of the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds during thunderstorms in all areas with rain. People in mountainous areas, especially the Northwest and Viet Bac, should closely monitor the weather and proactively evacuate areas at high risk of landslides.
Localities in the Central Highlands and the South are also advised to be on guard against localized flooding, especially in urban areas and low-lying areas. Farmers should pay attention to protecting crops and livestock from extreme weather events that may occur this evening.
