According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 am today, Vietnam time, was at 3,311.82 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 1.04% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,292 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 105 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is about 16 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

The dollar index (.DXY) fell 0.6% against a basket of major currencies, making gold cheaper for holders of foreign currencies. Meanwhile, major indexes on Wall Street fell slightly and government bond yields rose, as investors closely watched a key debate over President Donald Trump's tax cut bill, which has fueled concerns about the country's rising debt.

“We are temporarily stuck in a range from recent lows to highs, waiting for more clarity on trade and tariffs,” said Daniel Pavilonis, senior market strategist at RJO Futures.

A Reuters survey of economists also showed that the US economic outlook remains weak, despite a temporary easing of the US-China trade war.

In another development, CNN cited multiple sources as saying that new intelligence shows that Israel is preparing to launch an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, while the Trump administration is still negotiating with Tehran over its uranium enrichment program. In a context of economic chaos and political tension, gold is always considered a safe investment channel. Last month, the price of gold hit a record of 3,500.05 USD/ounce.

“We believe the recent price correction will spur renewed investment demand, as macroeconomic and geopolitical risks remain,” ANZ bank said in a report.

Silver rose 1% to $33.40 an ounce. Platinum also rose 2.1% to $1,075.59, after hitting its highest since May 2024. Palladium added 1.8% to $1,031.05, its highest in more than six months.

China imported its highest amount of platinum in a year last month amid a global supply crunch, pointing to a potential shortage, said Fawad Razaqzada, market analyst at City Index and FOREX.com. Meanwhile, palladium prices have surged as demand concerns have eased.
