Domestic gold price today 5/8/2025
At 4:30 this morning (May 8), SJC listed the price of gold bars at 120.2 million VND/tael for buying - 122.2 million VND/tael for selling, down 500,000 VND/tael compared to the opening price of the morning session on May 7.
Large gold businesses such as Doji and Bao Tin Minh Chau have also listed a reduction in the price of SJC gold bars to 119.7 million VND/tael for buying - 121.7 million VND/tael for selling, down 500,000 VND/tael compared to the morning session yesterday, May 7.
SJC listed the price of gold rings at 115.5-118 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out); Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of gold rings at 117.5-120.5 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out).

World gold price today 5/8/2025
At the same time, the world gold price was trading around 3,382.6 USD/ounce, down 50 USD/ounce compared to the closing price in the US last night. Converted according to the USD exchange rate of Vietcombank, the world gold price is equivalent to 106.7 million VND/tael, excluding taxes and fees.
World gold prices fell sharply after news that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and trade negotiator Jamieson Greer are expected to meet with He Lifeng - China's top economic official - in Switzerland this weekend to discuss trade deals.
Thus, the domestic price of SJC gold bars has also been adjusted down according to the world gold price, but is currently 15.5 million VND/tael higher than the world gold price.
