On the morning of July 8, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI companies at 118.9 million VND/tael for buying and 121 million VND/tael for selling - an increase of 500,000 VND compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also increased when being traded at 114.4 million VND/tael for buying, 116.9 million VND/tael for selling - an increase of 500,000 VND.
Domestic gold prices returned to the 121 million VND/tael mark following the upward trend of world gold prices but continued to maintain the gap.
Currently, converted according to the exchange rate listed at Vietcombank, the price of SJC gold bars is 15 million VND/tael higher than the world price.
In the international market, gold prices today had a very strong fluctuation session. At 9:00 a.m., the world gold price was trading at 3,334 USD/ounce. At one point, the gold price reached 3,343 USD/ounce - an increase of about 45 USD/ounce compared to the lowest level of last night's session.
Gold prices on the international market fluctuated in the context of a strong recovery of the USD. Currently, the USD index (DXY) increased sharply to 97.36 points, up about 0.39% compared to the previous session.
SJC gold bar price increased sharply
According to analysts, after the price of gold plummeted to the $3,300/ounce range, the news that US President Donald Trump announced high tariffs on 14 countries caused surprise, helping the price of the precious metal reverse and increase sharply.
The move comes as the BRICS Summit in Brazil draws attention from precious metals investors due to its potential long-term impact on gold prices.
The above information also caused the US stock market to fall, money flowed into safe investment channels, so gold prices benefited.
