SJC gold bar price maintains historical peak, gold ring price increases slightly

On the morning of August 22, the price of SJC gold bars remained at a historical peak of 125.4 million VND/tael; the price of gold rings increased by 200,000 VND/tael.

Opening, gold trading enterprises listed the price of SJC gold bars at 124.4 million VND/tael (buy) - 125.4 million VND/tael (sell), unchanged from the end of the previous day.

For gold rings, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited set the price of gold rings of type 1-5 at only 117.5 million VND/tael (buy) - 120 million VND/tael (sell), an increase of 200,000 VND/tael each way compared to the end of yesterday.

Phu Quy Group also increased by 200,000 VND/tael each way, to 117.2 million VND/tael (buy) - 120.2 million VND/tael (sell).

Similarly, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited set the price at 117.7 million VND/tael (buy) -120.7 million VND/tael (sell) instead of the previous 117.5 million VND/tael (buy) -120.5 million VND/tael (sell).

The buying and selling price range is commonly set by businesses at 1-3 million VND/tael.

Previously, on August 21, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 600,000 VND/tael, to the highest level ever of 125.4 million VND/tael; the price of gold rings "increased" by 300,000-500,000 VND/tael.

On the international market, early this morning, the world gold price was trading at 3,339 USD/ounce, not much change compared to the same time yesterday.

Gold prices fluctuated within a narrow range due to cautious market sentiment ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s (FED) monetary policy conference. Investors are waiting for clearer signals from the FED on the direction of interest rate policy in the coming time.

At nearly 9:00 a.m., the gold price was trading at 3,336 USD/ounce, about 19.6 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.
