Youth carry out nearly 24,000 summer youth volunteer projects

This year's "Summer Youth Volunteer" campaign takes place with a focus on new rural construction areas, especially difficult areas, borders, and islands.

On the afternoon of October 10, in Hanoi , the Central Youth Union summarized the "Summer Youth Volunteer" Campaign in 2025.

During the 3 months of implementation, the Campaign attracted more than 11 million union members and youths to participate, carrying out nearly 24,000 projects with a total value of more than 310 billion VND.

Many activities have made a clear mark. At the Youth Islands, 19 teams participated in repairing structures and installing solar power; the "Exam Support" program had nearly 328,000 volunteers supporting; the "Green Summer" campaign had more than 331,000 students participating.

In particular, to meet the requirements of operating the two-tier local government model and arranging administrative units, the whole country has established more than 25,000 teams with about 480,000 volunteers, directly supporting nearly 4.2 million people to access public services.

In addition, the provincial and municipal youth unions have regularly maintained more than 1,400 disaster prevention and control teams, promptly evacuated more than 12,000 households and repaired infrastructure after floods...

Concluding the conference, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit of initiative, creativity and responsibility of the youth, especially the youth's timely participation in urgent tasks such as digital transformation and supporting the operation of two-level government; affirming the image of "wherever needed, youth are there, whatever is difficult, there are youth".

Emphasizing two core factors that determine the success of every movement: Activities must be useful and practical for the community and union members, youth must be the direct subjects participating and mastering the activities, the First Secretary of the Central Youth Union requested that all levels of the Youth Union increase their proactiveness and political responsibility, requiring Youth Union Secretaries at all levels to be the leaders and take full responsibility.

Along with that, maintain and professionalize the force supporting the government and digital transformation. In addition, it is necessary to continue to promote, expand and improve the quality of volunteer Saturday and Green Sunday activities, considering them as regular and drastic activities; deploy the goal of eliminating 10,000 environmental black spots nationwide.

In addition, it is necessary to drastically transform volunteer activities from short-term to long-term, with long-term contributions, depth and inheritance. Each province and city Youth Union must identify the focus, priorities and strategies such as social security, new rural construction, civilized urban areas, green startups, environmental protection, new rural tourism development so that young people can focus their youth to solve practical problems of the people.
