SJC gold bar price hits historic peak on the morning of August 14, about to reach 125 million VND

(NLDO) – The price of SJC gold bars suddenly jumped this morning, surpassing the all-time peak, approaching 125 million VND/tael.

On the morning of August 14, gold trading businesses simultaneously changed their new gold price listings in an upward direction.

Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) is listing the price of gold bars at 123.5 million VND/tael for buying and 124.7 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 800,000 VND per tael compared to yesterday.

This is a very strong increase of SJC gold in recent days, at the same time setting a new historical peak, far surpassing the mark of 124.1 million VND/tael last week. Currently, the price of SJC gold bars is heading towards the mark of 125 million VND/tael. While some experts predict the price could reach 130 million VND/tael.

Similarly, the price of 99.99% gold rings and jewelry gold also increased to 117.1 million VND/tael for buying and 119.6 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 600,000 VND per tael compared to yesterday.

Domestic gold prices are even increasing faster than world prices. In the international market, gold prices today are trading at 3,367 USD/ounce, up about 20 USD/ounce compared to the previous session.

Precious metals on the international market rose when the USD index (DXY) unexpectedly fell sharply. DXY is currently trading at 97.6 points, down significantly from the 98 points in previous sessions.

The weakening of the USD comes amid market expectations that the US Federal Reserve (FED) will cut interest rates at its September meeting. Analysts predict that the FED will cut interest rates by 0.25% at its meeting next month, and may cut interest rates twice later this year and early 2026.

The rapid increase in the price of SJC gold bars compared to the world price has further widened the gap. Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 107.4 million VND/tael, lower than gold rings by about 12.2 million VND/tael and lower than SJC gold bars by about 17.3 million VND/tael.
